We used to run a small construction firm anyways. She was in the office working and I came up to play doom thinking I could use her being behind me if the need arose(I.E Arch Vile) I reached that level and started shrieking like a little school girl. It was an experiment which was trying to close the Hell portals as quick as possible. It managed to do that with a single portal, so Hell invaded with 7, the Experiment closed 6, and Doomguy goes on to close the seventh alone

I hope the Doom Eternal archvile would have a hitscan attack. That would really drive fear into players. And the doomslayer is pretty agile so moving behind cover to avoid the flame pillar would be simple to do. Nothing like the fear of your screen being covered in flames and then you burning up 2 seconds later like in Doom 2

Like the Cacodemon, the Archvile was originally gonna be in the 2005 Doom movie but it would have a really different and disturbing appearance. Sadly it was scrapped for whatever reason.

I doubt he'll be resurrecting any demons in Doom Eternal because of one simple fact: all dead bodies disappear. That's the case for all first person shooters since like what? 2001? Doom 2016 wasn't an exception, and neither will be this. Sooo I guess he's just going to burn your ass from a distance, and MAYBE heal damaged monsters or give them some sort of a buff.

I really hope that in the new doom game, the bodies stay around. I love seeing the bodies laying around (Like in the original 1 and 2), and then the arch-vile could revive them. Edit: I feel that my message didn't come clear enough, but I just want to bodies to be ragdolls that you can walk through (Like the original first two doom games), but bigger bodies like from the baron would become solid props you could jump on (Though they would dissappear after a minute or two, since that could be inconvenient in tight spaces.), or be able to easily swap between the three modes in the map editor (Dissappear, stay, or prop), and in the settings you could swap if you'd like the bodies to physically stay around or not. Maybe there would be exceptions, like if a arch-vile was nearby, though.

Adding on to what the other guy said, its not possible, and at the same time dead bodies are going to be a nuisance. Specially on higher difficulties since enemies will be able to clip through dead bodies and they will obsecure your vision of the enemy. Its just not convenient.

The reason why Arch-viles are not in the console ports because they have twice the sprites than any other demon and so, as the PSX port developers themselves said; "we can't do justice on PSX" That's because of hardware limitations. Similar how Icon of Sin is replaced with a Mastermind in console ports too.
