@@nathanmarshall745 maybe maybe not...pokemon lore is horribly inconsistent (possibly because the primary resource for information in-universe is a bunch of sociopathic kids reporting to their local dubiously qualified and even more dubiously employed "professor") but an awful lot of it points towards the setting being pretty dam horrifying a-la nature-is-not-nice + magical ecosystem even if you discount half the pokedex entries as tall tales and rumors and stuff written by people who don't know what numbers mean and just stick enough zeros on there to feel like they sound cool.

Except that she isn't "British" at all. Just because the region is loosely based on Britatin does not mean it IS Britain in any other regard. The whole "British/Scottish accent" joke is just a fan-made thing and annoying to boot. (It was funny the first few times. Then it was just blah.) If there were any native language, it would be Japanese, obviously, but western audiences just can't get beyond the association with Britain. I don't see people regularly (ie: ever) having Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Shinnoh region characters voiced with a region-based dialect (let alone language). In other words, Korean fits just as well (if not far better) than British.

@@JarieSuicune This may be because... well... Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are all based on Japan. The only close area with no relation to Japan at all is Orre, based on the US state of Arizona, but located close to Johto. This is because Western audiences, people like us, have no fucking idea what different Japanese dialects people speak because of a lack of knowledge, interaction, and just general ignorance. But we know too well that the British dialect is very different from what a New Yorker would speak. But, Korean fits in... any situation, really. It is, by far, the simplest non-logographic (not like Chinese where 1 symbol = one word) language known to man, at least in writing, when using Hangul, which is the only script that isn't logographic. TL;DR, Korean is super easy, so you're right for the wrong reason. And plus, her accent... I am pretty sure she's got a posh Scottish accent in Masters.
