wait, that actually makes so much sense now. in the original doom games doomguy's eyes are blue, and the recent ones shows that doomguy's eyes are now brown. maybe it's because of the divinity machine's godly effects taking it's tolls on the iris' color, dyeing his irises from blue to yellow, then to a toned down brown

One of my favorite things about modern doom is the focus on offline solo play. There are already enough games pushing online co-op - if anything what I would personally want is good Quake Arena style multiplayer again, like Doom 2016 but better

@@OlafPawbelt i dont think its that. you gotta consider the fan side of things. remember doom 2 has a female doom guy mod(i forgot her name but shes just as ripped if not as angry as the doom guy himself), another thing is that doom has never had multiplayer aside from quake games. the other fact is it will give others a chance to understand how to play such games instead of having to wait your turn(thats the whole point of co-op and multiplayer. just like the halo game series)

Which means there was a Cars Hitler, a Cars holocaust, a Cars Pacific War, a Cars D-Day, a Cars nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a Cars Battle of Iwo Jima... This leads to so many important questions, like: Were the Cars Little Boy and Fat Man nukes sentient? Was it a suicide mission? What kind of car was Car Hitler? A VW? A forklift? I have literally never been more excited for a doom game. 2016 was amazing and felt great, Eternal makes me feel like a god on way too much aderall. Dark Ages is shaping up to be my favorite doom game. I'm very happy that they are going back to the older doom games in how they feel. I can only hope it lives up to the hype.

This is going to be an absolutely insane game. I could not wait to be a badass again, rip and tear throughout the game, and 100% it like I did the past two Doom games. Even though I have already 100% completed the past two Doom games, I still play Doom Eternal and Doom 2016 because they are phenomenal. After a stressful day, it's just nice to absolutely annihilate anything in your path. So, it's still fun to relieve stress after a long day of work by playing those two games. I'm curious to see what new additions to the series are going to be added in this game. Also, just like Midnight said, I am curious to know what they are going to replace for the BFG, like what is the super weapon in Doom the Dark Ages. Since it's a medieval setting, I'd say there's a good chance that they will introduce some kind of super weapon that resembles something medieval. Maybe a sword that unleashes a wave of fire when swung, or a sword with a shockwave so powerful that it explodes the entire surrounding area, annihilating any creature in its path. Who knows? I'm super curious to see how they handle that.

My opinion is that this story will show Doomguy's adventures right after the divinity machine as he fights across parallel worlds and different times through the gateways of hell. His final mission could be the Doom Slayer using the Soul Cube to become the Hero from ancient Mars in Doom 3, right before he is betrayed and trapped in the sarcophagus, ready to be found by the UAC in the 22nd century...

When it comes to the shield, in _my_ head, I've justified it by thinking that the Slayer isn't completely aware of his new powers yet having just gone through the Divinity Machine. So maybe it's just something he's used to having a part of his war gear at the time? And it also seems like he uses it a _lot_ more offensively than defensively!!

Darker theme is fine, the design looks badass so far. I just hope the gameplay is not slower than in Eternal. Quickswapping and fast movement (grappling hook, ballista) has to be in this game (or some iteration/expansion of it). It created insanse skill ceiling most of the players are not even aware of it existence

I personally don't like the idea of co-op because it takes away the power fantasy of being an individual of such power, you're able to face the armies of hell on your own. A co-op mode where you play as a Night Sentinel? Yeah, that's a pretty idea idea, but during the campaign while you're the slayer simply wouldn't work for me.
