4:10 I think this Maykr construct is meant to be a prison for him suspended in space. The Priests refer to him as "Beast" or a "predator", and I suspect they treat him like one. He is a super weapon for Gods and Kings, and it is a situation like this where they need him to come out. Not that those strings on the Slayer lasted. It's like letting an animal out of a cage.

The game will be on the ground like the classics which is why the projectiles go slow. Also this is pretty much God Of War (2018) but with guns and first person.

So far, the thing makes me think of a 2D bullet-hell game, but from a first-person perspective Meaning: The projectiles from individual enemies are slow and easy to dodge or block (spider scene), but together, they make it very hard. Also note how the slayer rarely jumps. Am I the only one? See you in hell, too. :D

Great video, the civil war completely slipped by my memory of the lore, that makes a lot of sense. Making my own video that actually ended up being an hour long, I'll see if I end up actually uploading it

Fur Cape? Check Chainsaw Shield? Check Badass levels? Check Check Hype for this game? The Dark Ages can't come soon enough. I am already starting to enter that state excitement that I used to feel for games when I was a kid. And if they do a sorta deep dive into the game at Quake Con, it will only be better from there. I am so pumped for this game. I love literally everything I saw in this trailer. And best of all? It seems to be, again, something unique. This will be to Eternal what Eternal was to 2016. A change of pace so that it doesn't grow stale. PLUS, a focus on melee combat this time around sounds very VERY good. Also, glad to see to see you back man.

Hugo himself says in an interview that the slayer does NOT need a mech to kill titans. So i wouls assune the slayer uses the Atlans as a way to optimize his titan killing and maybe he delivers the final blow himself. He did kill the icon of sin on his own so hes shown he can do it. Fyi - at 6:14 in the vid below, hugo is clear that the slayer does not need a mech. Him killing the Icon of Sin was already proof of that. He doesn't need one, he just uses what he can do get a job done as quick as possible. He's practical

Yeah I find it annoying how he tries to deny what the lore and devs said, and try to make his own head canon. Doomslayer is shown on foot and with a crucible killing the Dreadnought in the codex, he shown and talked about killing the Great Titan Champion with sword and shield with some implications it could of been with the demonic crucible, and then we see him literally kill The Icon of Sin which the lore confirms is the strongest Titan ever just using his guns and strength then finish it off with the crucible. This isn’t suggesting he needs a mecha or he used it to kill those demons, Hugo just wanted to add it for fun and the slayer did have one so he might have used it at times in the Unholy crusade yet not in any of the important battles against the named Titans.

@LeaderOfTheLostSouls I think your last paragraph is the answer. If he's using a mech to speed things up then why not? I just hope they explicitly show the slayers abilities as this 'superweapon' that they've talked about. And more than what we see in eternal.

@@heejincider4905 Well the gameplay is always gonna be him nerfed cuz if he was lore accurate he would kill everything and take little to no damage at all, but as Hugo has said it’s a limitation for game balance and for fun. Yet he did say this slayer is supposed to be heavier, slower, and feel or look more powerful gameplay wise like a tank.

I hate to be that guy comparing video games but I genuinely like the aesthetic of Doomguy and Kratos wearing a fur coat for their second recent games, Kratos had an epic fur coat more reminiscent to Vikings in God of War Ragnarok and now the Doom Slayer has a more Medieval fur cape like a Knight’s in The Dark Ages. I can’t help but savor the immaculate aesthetic and I can’t be the only one thinking about it right?

I think the last city is the lost city inside the core of mars in doom eternal, in doom2016 the first outside arena has a cube wich is sentinel architecture, dead give away of sentinel presence on mars way before doom eternal

Nice analysis. If they bring back the skull keys, I'd love if they introduce a new enemy/miniboss who's head is the skull key so you must behead it to acquire the key.

The rider who ridding the demon looks like D'Sparil from heretic, the bet the fur cape will have some lore where the slayer killed a bigger monster and now he wearing the fur of this other beast / demon. I have a feeling they're going to mix heretic weapons with hexen stuff don't ask me how but I have a feeling they are. I wouldn't be shock if they add the ethereal crossbow as a hidden weapon. All I want to see is how the BFG going to look like.
