Strictly speaking I shouldn't have done this level, since it's primarily for deathmatch. But it does have monsters and an accessible exit and it is playable, so here you go. There's something strangely lonely about this one. The filename starts with Z, so it's right at the bottom of any listing of Doom pwads. It's in the deathmatch section of the /idgames archive, so anyone looking to play a random single player level is probably going to skip it. And it's a deathmatch level from 1994, and aside from maybe two or three classics who still competitively plays any of those anymore? It's quite possible I'm the first person to play this in over a decade.
Even the level itself feels a little lonely. It's underdetailed, and mostly empty. A few tunnels threaten to turn into a maze but peter out half-heartedly. There are curious touches like a couple of Greek letter Omega etched into the floor by the plasma rifle, and a sort of half sickle shape near the level exit. The texturing is cold and grey. And then as you're pottering around the level springs a Cyberdemon on you.
Discovering the Cyberdemon was what made me want to try and do a demo here. You get the BFG and enough cells for two shots, so he's killable. But there's a barrier between you and him, so you can't get as close as you'd like and it's quite hard to achieve a two BFG kill - even with the invuln. I had quite a lot of failed attempts before I succeeded with this one.
