Hey Krow, I have a question that you might be in a unique position to answer: With the North American voice lines, the actors all have accents given their geographical locations (Widowmaker speaks English with a French accent, Mercy sounds Swiss, Sombra Spanish, etc...) The game uses different voice actors for the Asian versions of the game. Do these characters have accents as well? For example, does Cassidy speak Korean with an American accent?

They do sound similar, but I wouldn't say it's an 'accent'. Expecially for heros like Sombra

I would say they mimic the tones of accents as much as possible, but in some cases, it's difficult to replicate the accent due to limitations of specific languages (e.g. Mandarin because of intonations). I think voice actors for different languages of the game does a fairly good job at representing the characteristic qualities of a hero's origin for the most part :)

Not really. You can tell that the other VAs are definitely not from the respective country that their character is from/never spoke the language/cannot do the accents well at all. Maybe they try, lol, but it's pretty bad.

I don't know for Korean but in the french version the only characters with a foreign accent are Sombra, Zarya, Symmetra and Orisa. The rest of the characters speak with a regular northern french accent with some of the black characters having matching voice actors (with the exception of lucio who's voiced by a very famous white voice actor). In general having accent for anime characters is rarer and is especially badly seen if the main character wouldn't hear an accent. For exemple no disney character has an accent in french as it wouldn't make sens for most of them to hear themselves with an accent. And it's especially badly seen to fake an accent, if a character has an accent it should generally be voiced by an actor speaking the language

What I find interesting is how even though this is clearly a very high skill lobby, the opponents seem to frequently charge empowered punches in situations where it's entirely avoidable (i.e. Doom is still high HP and engaged deep on the enemy backline without much or any follow-up). Is the chip damage through power block valuable enough to be worth giving the doomfist an empowered punch and refreshing the cooldown, or are there some other factors that I'm not aware of which these players take into account?

I think they do it intentionally to make the doomfist to be more aggro and potentially getting baited into the enemy team

you could either cancel the slam manually for a smaller jump, or if you want height and distance, you can cancel the slam immediately by charging up your fist to fling yourself up higher

Tbh he probably is. One tricks like that have map and tech knowledge that pro players who have to flex couldn't possibly invest the same time in learning for just a single hero. But being a one trick also means he suffers from any meta shifts because he's stuck on Doom. He'd probably have a higher winrate if he opts to flex but hey, he loves Doom and he's consistently T500 and even T10, he can get away with one tricking if it costs him a few ranks.
