Yo! I LOVE your game. I picked it up thanks to this review. Quick question - I am confused by the inventory system. It seems like some items can be dropped/swapped, and some can't, but it's unclear to me which and when. For example, when I swap a main gun from my inventory, it swaps the dead (out-of-ammo) one back into that slot, but sometimes when I attempt to switch a sidearm in, it "drops" it instead? For some reason, it's confusing me during gameplay. Am I an idiot? I have a two-year-old in the house (for the record I only play after she's in bed lol) so maybe my brain is just on low batteries...

@@montanaknox1066 Yeah you right, sidearm can't be switched from inventory, we figured you don't really need to do it, because it has unlimited ammo, while switching normal gun on the fly makes sense. We'll see if this can be improved somehow.

I don't think I'll ever tire of roguelites with permanent progression. They are my preferred pick up and play games, especially when I can put down the system mid run and pick it right back up hours later!

This is probably the best roguelite/like I've played since Risk of Rain 2 and is easily up in the S tier with the likes of Hades and Dead Cells. This game will definitely be compared to Enter the Gungeon but I find it WAY more fun and replayable, especially due to the metric ton of unlocks and emergent gameplay based on the myriad of different weapons and side perks you can get like leaving mines behind when jumping or summoning death circles when taking X amount of damage. The meta progression is super satisfying and there's so many cool little secrets and things to discover on each run. I really hope this game takes off because the devs clearly put a ton of care and love into it. Spread the word, people!

Been following this game since it was called “I, Dracula - Genesis”. This developer is super humble and knows this game doesn’t have a lot of coverage, which is BONKERS because HOLY CRACKERS, HARRIET, this game is GOOD. If you even SLIGHTLY enjoy roguelikes or twin stick shooters, BUY THIS, and then tell all your friends so the dev finally gets the recognition he deserves!!!

I kind of liked the title "I, Dracula - Genesis" better. I understand it's probably technically worse for sales because it sounds too weird and cryptic, but it fits the game better compared to the generic sounding "Doomsday Hunters". Oh well. I hope the rebrand helps get the game the attention it deserves.

This is right up there with Enter the Gungeon and Neon Abyss. Love it the enemy design is so cool and the Pixel Art is sublime. I wish the OST was a bit more punchy, it’s nice but a bit too relaxing. The guns are pretty amazing. Picked it up after watching this and Splattercat’s Indie Impressions.

This is the best one sense Hades to me. Having an absolute blast. One thing I liked about Hades more was the story and lore, but as far as gameplay goes, this is right up there to me, it is a little more relaxed than hades.

Do you know what the modifiers do before a run? It says plus and minus % depending on whether they are hard or easy modifiers but it never tells you what you're gaining in losing. I'm thinking it's your xp during that run but it's hard to tell.

This is really good. I don't know if it's a glitch though, but no music plays in any stage until I reach a shop, or a boss fight. And when I die, a sound effect plays on an infinite loop.

This looks interesting. Personally, I've been hooked on the recently released "Spirit Hunters: Infinite Horde." It's similar to Vampire Survivors (which I'm also anticipating on Switch), and really hard to put down. So many great releases this month!

I'm hardcore loving it as well; I loved VS on Xbox and mobile, I also got addicted to Void Scrappers on Switch, but Spirit Hunters is better than both of them IMO.

@@nicked_fenyx it's normally $4, currently $2.80, and yeah, the weapons are pretty unique (unlike Spirit Hunters, which borrow heavily from Vampire), and the pilots' differences are rather marked as well so there's a lot of replayability. Graphics are simplistic, but again, it's just $4 and now on sale.

Seems really awesome, great recommendation. Although I Hades is very difficult to be matched because on top of the very addictive gameplay it has an outstanding story that keeps you engaged, a rare thing to find in other roguelites

the main dev is/was ukrainian from what i remember [or maybe russian i could be mistaken, regardless, they were near some conflict areas] and that last i heard they were prioritizing safety vs updates , which is obvs understandable obvs ; regardless i am always happy to see more of this game its super underrated imho , and hopefully the dev can get more recognition for their artistic and creative style , the game is fucking beautiful imho ; i was definitely more of a fan of the previous title being 'I, Dracula : Genesis' was a much better and more unique name tho , but apparently there was some kind of issue regarding it

Does it have any kind of auto aim? I have a Physical disability, and having that auto aim option (like in gungeon) makes the difference between playable and unplayable

It does. I just tried it out myself, and it does a pretty decent job, imo. If you turn to face towards an enemy, the reticle will aim in its direction. If you kill an enemy and another is nearby, it will often jump to that second enemy for you. You just have to go into the options menu and enable the "stronger aim assist" feature.

@@nurik4445 The first time I tried it, I realized I'd backed out of the options menu after checking the box for stronger aim assist, rather than scrolling down to save those settings. Did you go back into the settings to make sure the box is still checked? I've found, if anything, the stronger aim assist can be a bit *too* strong/persistent. This is because (to my knowledge) there's no way to force the aim assist to swap to a different enemy in the heat of battle once it's locked onto one for you. I've taken damage a few times because an enemy got closer to me than the one I was shooting at, but the aim assist wouldn't "unlock" from the first enemy to let me shoot at the second one. I think this might be because the first enemy was also shooting at me, so the game assumed I wanted to keep aiming at them instead of allowing me to turn and face / shoot at the closer one. So you'll definitely notice it once the feature is turned on.

@@skysix5733 Not bad at all. Definitely not pulling my hair out. It's been great fun to simply blast away at enemies. Very nice HD rumble for sure. Still, some systems/interface stuff I need to wrap my head around (looking forward to it - seems the developer excitedly packed a lot into the game,) but that's the only hiccup. I am a pick-up-and-play gamer for sure and love Dead Cells, Dicey Dungeons, Enter the Breach, and Katana Zero, for some context. Hope this helps!
