I went through MC-JOTC in the Japanese Islands, and all I had was a 10$ or less, local hardware store machete. I also had my DEMO knife and a SAK, but it was a keychain knife. I served in Asia, and no one , not one of us, had any knife that cost more than something like a Ka-Bar or some Gerber we got at the PX. Served in multiple war zones, never had a knife that cost me more than $100. Never. In fact, I would say that all my tools were able to be bought for $100....until the Leatherman's came out. thats when it went sideways.

Eagle globe and anchor, or USMC engraved / stamped would be excellent. Exercised with Marines plenty of times. Excellent, Iove 'em!!. Just don't get down range of them....brrrrrrrrp !!! . Semper Fi! 👍😁🤘🇦🇺 (My $ is at about 1/2 of yours right now 😩🇦🇺)

Excellent work you did there! That knife/sword looks like an amazing tool… I want one. If I were to make one suggestion… (which you might already know) if there is iron/steel/metal near the compass… it causes the compass to get stuck. I do realize that this is just a minor detail, and that you might have just thrown the compass on there to give the sheath a little extra somethin-somethin lol. I only say this because people often forget what a compass actually is… it’s a tiny magnetized needle.. (for those who don’t know)… the “north” facing side of the needle points to south magnetic which is currently in the northern geographic. (Most people don’t realize or know this fact either) The north face of a magnet will always, always, alwayssss point to the south magnetic. If “you” ever break or lose your compass… you can use a normal magnet to determine north (the stronger the better).
@The-Collapse-of-Civilization3 ай бұрын
I should probably clarify how to do this… “You” could suspend a ring magnet via string, and as long as the string and its own natural twist does not interfere with the magnet, it will work. Another way is by using a solid magnet with flat sides, (not a ring magnet) and place it on a very slippery surface… with it’s north and south being horizontal. The best way that i have found is to use a very smooth plate, with some very slippery liquid on it… and you gently shake the plate and the magnet will spin to orientate itself correctly. That being: it will always face its north face to the south magnetic which is currently in the northern geographic. On a side note, this is also the best way to determine which side is which on a magnet (when you don’t have a compass or similar “tech” handy)
