At least level 15 but you may need more units if your units are capped at lvl 15.

Yes, your economy should be able to support sending them however. Otherwise, it can greatly speed up the game.

Yeah, only Krip, Mafia Krip and female battlers have hair. The rest are either bald or wear hat or helmet.

It's a challenge video, not a strategy. However, if you want to beat Doombringer, you should bring a a lot of burst damaging battlers (Battlers with strong but slow attacks) and meatshields, also Krip for damage during rage and pushing as well.
