I have the small bag in the burgundy. The strap bothered me so much I switched it for a colorful custom made guitar strap I got off Etsy (specifically refurbished for purses). I have gotten so many compliments on the strap. It looks so pretty and carrying the purse is so much easier.

Lol this would have helped me when I bought my satchel 🤣 I got the mini & was disappointed about the size & complained about it on Instagram. Now I can’t order from the Dooney site haha. After I carried her tho, I fell completely in love with it. So I’m happy I got my mini. Still debating if I want the small size next. Think I’m going to because I just LOVE this bag so much! I think everyone needs this bag in their handbag collection. It’s a staple for sure!!!

I have a medium, it's almost 15" wide and the opening is around 12" wide. I double the strap and wear it on my shoulder, it's a bit heavy but not too bad.

Nice video. I have multiples in the small size and I always double up the strap. I have the micro size which comes with the 3 part strap. I have a medium/large and it is way too big for me. I've kept it for travel, but haven't been able to go anywhere for a long time. I think Micro is as small as I can go...it is super cute and holds quite a bit. No plans for a Nano, but someday I would like to try a Mini. TFS

I just got a GORGEOUS pre-owned mini in natural and the patina is just 🧑🏻‍🍳🤌🏻💋! 100% smooth and just so beautiful! They are quite heavy, so I’m hoping I love it just as much after carding! Lol

Excellent video! Very helpful comparison. I love my mini (in red! 😁). I have arthritis in my lower back, but I don’t have trouble carrying the mini because I exercise self-control about what I put into it. I don’t need an umbrella because my state is in drought. I would not put a potentially leaky water bottle into my beloved mini. Carrying the wonderful leather is such a pleasure that I don’t mind being selective about what I put into it.

Been watching for a while. I bought my first dooney the year I had my son. It’s been a couple years already, I got the small Florentine satchel in the color slate and I love it. Now, I’m seriously considering the micro. I just can’t decide on the color. I’m stuck on three: ecru, natural and red. Any how, thanks for all the info on this gorgeous bag, I’ve learned a lot over the last couple years. 😊

I have the red Florentine and the natural. I always suggest the natural just for the sheer fact that it darkens up and shows the patina that develops over time the best IMO. The red is gorgeous too!

Great comparison and thanks for doing this! I'm on the hunt for a nice bag for my realtor and the Florentine satchels are so pretty. The Dooney site seems to only have the 'micro' and 'nano' so I'm guessing those are a lot smaller?

Do you have a Dooney outlet near you? You might be able to find the other sizes there. If you don’t have one nearby, you used to be able to call some outlets and they would ship the item to you. I think the micro is actually only 1” smaller than the mini so it might be pretty similar. The nano is pretty dang small.

For rare colors like these, you have to search resale sites like ebay, Poshmark, and Facebook. If you are looking for a neutral color, check ilovedooney.com or your local Dooney outlet. You can even call some outlets and they may ship to you.

Pull the trigger! I did on the large (after a comparison video on the large and regular from Pecan Tanned Beauty) and I am SO happy with my choice! The bag I received is STUNNING-100% smith and the smell of the leather is amazing! I chose the large cause a too small opening aggravates me. I love Mama Beach! I feel like I could hang out with and have the most wonderful conversations about our mutual love of handbags! ❤️

I went for the large cause I’m 5’8” and could stand to lose a few so if I do a too small bag, I feel like Chris Farley doing fat guy in a little coat. Lol! As for color, I always love the natural cause it darkens and shows the patina the best IMO. Black is also stunning and the most forgiving since it doesn’t show water spots. However, any Florentine bag color you go with I’m sure will be stunning! Florentine is my favorite leather, even among more luxury brands like Louis Vuitton. Good luck on your hunt and I hope you find the perfect bag for you! Ps. If you are stuck on size and/or color, I advise to order both using Klarna so you aren’t paying full price up front, get them, and that way you can see them in person if you don’t have a Dooney store or outlet near you. Then just do a return of the one you decide against. 😉 just a thought.

The weight difference is negligible. The Mini weighs 2lbs 4oz, the Regular weighs 2lbs 10 ozs.
