These were some awesome tips. I downloaded the game a week ago and as soon as I unlocked Assault I just threw all the Pointmen out, and I nailed some missions pretty good, but everyone was wounded. Then I started using Pointmen, and they are like much faster and have a greater chance to kill the enemied without getting wounded or killed. I wasn't using grenades because I was putting troops in front of the door and the one in the front always got killed, but the corner grenade works awesome

i had the brain to think not to expose myself but point-men aren't the be all end all of cqc as though they may be fast they die fast. along with being restricted to pistol they are nonviable in hostile neutralization missions due to the fact time is not of the essence in that kind of mission.

The shield guy acts as my point man clearing the fatal front then I move in clearing left and right with assault

the shift to lock and coloured paths realy helped me alot. Now i can indeed keep asault/stealth for long range and get a SMG asaulter + pointmen combo to do the room clearing.

Thanks for the video. I didnt know about the stop and go commands. And my times were really long. But after this video its slashed them significantly. Though its harder to be precise with where they stop on the phone. Keep it up man

5:03 If there are two troopers going to go through the same doors (without go codes) and one of them is going to throw flashbang through doors, both of them will wait until flashbang is detonated before moving through doors. So I think go code is unnecessary for throwing flashbangs through doors. Btw, what pistol are you using for pointmen?

I just got this game last week. I'm loving it - it's an extremely unique, awesome and complex game with a lot of replayability. The best thing is its available for mobile, and there aren't very many games with this much depth available (especially with no game-ruining microtransactions)! Can't wait for DK2! =)

I feel like this was made by someone who loved the Rainbow Six planning phase from the first games and made an entire game out of it - I love it. Been playing Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, and SWAT since the late 90s and just found this game earlier this year. DK is out now, but I want to master the first game before moving onto DK2's more advanced mechanics

Yep! Sort of like Rainbow Six's realism/planning phase mixed with Hotline Miami's top-down perspective. There's definitely some SWAT 4 in there as well. It's one of the best tactical games I have ever played.

@A. Theil, More like SWAT 4 + Rainbow Six. It's NOTHING like hotline Miami (besides the top-down view). Hotline Miami is fast paced action based game. This is a slow tactical game, where your planning decides the outcome, not your speed and precision of shooting and movement skills.

not sure if you got it on your own or not, but basically if you click a point on a path and select a go code the trooper will wait until you manually issue that command. So say you line up two troopers on each side of a door, and tell them to wait for Alpha go code, they will stop there and hold until you issue the command. Useful for syncing up two separate teams or having trooper 1 wait until trooper 2 has his back before going in.

You play like someone who has played a lot of old school Rainbow Six, like me lol. I love this game, and only just now found it when I was on my yearly SWAT 3&4/ Ghost Recon/ R6 kick, installing the classics and looking for videos and mods. This video has been really helpful in letting me understand how to best use the mechanics of the game. I want to master this game before moving onto the sequel though, plus it's not like these types of games are commonplace, so I'll save it for later lol

Wow! Thank you got the best, well thought out, tips, and you're video is easily the best I've seen so far on tips! I know you're playing on PC, but I'm playing the (lil brother of it called Doorkickers, and its for your phone or tablet: it basically works the same way) I'm really hooked, and even uploaded a couple of my plythroughs on my YT, but my question that I can't seem to find anywhere that shows how to use breachers? I have the class, and I'm stuck trying to 3 * an operation. I can get it all done, but my problem is I'm always having to change plans to shave like 2-3 sec off the time. If you can help, awesome, if not I get it 😂 I'm asking for help from a 3 year old video. Thanks again for amazing content, I'm going to be checking out more from you!

I never played this game but in this video I'm seeing several instances when enemies had first shot in close quarters, but your units didn't die. Looks like this game is very forgiving, not like Frozen Synapse, when you'd be punished for such tactical mistakes.

the go code is not realy needed if you let the first guy flash and clear, the second guy will just be blocked by the first guy and walk right on his shoulder when he enters ;)

How come your pistol guys don't lower their weapon when they come against a wall? If I tell mine to strafe around a corner, it will take them a second to raise their weapon, as the wall forces them to lower it.

They're just extra Go Codes, they don't behave any differently. You could first activate A, then B to have two squads attack the same room from different sides, for example (one squad going in on A, the other going in on B).

Pointman: Sp01 shadow pistol because of fast mozambique, 1911 for stopping power. I recommend raider vest or assaulter vest. Assaulter: p90 for shorter ranges, and m4 carbine for a it longer range. If enemies are extremely far away, consider using the bullpup. For armor. It depends. Breacher: Joint Combat Shotgun, hands down. Shield: If you're up against primarily pistol and smg guys, then equip the bunker shield. If theres a lot of rifle men, use the ironman shield. For the pistol, I really don't know. Your choice I guess. Personally I use the V9 pistol. Stealth: mp7 or honey badger. I recommend raider/assaulter armor as you're not supposed to be even shot at in the first place.

I play on the switch and on my phone (samsung)....is there any way to "lock" onto a specific path on those platforms? Like on PC you can hold shift and it stays locked on to whichever path you want so you don't accidentally click on another officer's path, but obviously switch and phones don't have a shift key. It's one of the most frustrating things to deal with when two troopers' paths are right next to each other and I can never click the one I need.

if anyone can help i just got this game and im wondering how you keep one or both of your guys from running in before the flash goes off around a corner i've played with the go codes and they won't stop what am i missing?

When it comes to "coordinated flashbangs," there are two ways to solve the problem: 1.) Make it so that the trooper throwing the flashbang is in front, and that the other troopers' paths pass through his position. If done correctly, the grenade thrower should stop everyone else in their tracks until he's finished the throw. (Note: This sometimes fails, especially if you aren't breaching a door. If that's the case, skip to the next step.) 2.) If #1 isn't working or just isn't an option (like when entering a door from two different sides), give everyone except the grenade-thrower a Go Code. Activate the Go Code as soon as the grenade explodes and the thrower himself starts to move in. I also recommend activating your Go Codes using the 1-4 keys on your keyboard. It's much faster than having to click their respective buttons, and as a result should make it easier to time them just right.

The more you play, the more your officers level up and become better (in hindsight, I probably should've mentioned that in this video).

@@Chubzdoomer Thanks for the response. I noticed there's leveling up and such but even at lvl 12 they still are woefully slow. Thankfully earned enough stars for better all around armor to tank with but at the expense of speed.
