well that was good insight! I'm working on a 97 firebird. Here's my dilemma. Power door lock driver side opens but won't lock either door. Passenger side, switch opens, but won't lock!! remote will lock both but the only thing that happens when I try to unlock with remote is dome lights come on & I hear a chime bell inside vehicle

Fords are known for the wires breaking in between the body & door. Inside the rubber see it all the time. That's where i always start. Gota look close sometimes its not so easy to spot as wires break inside the casing. You can see where get stressed just bend em easily feeling for weak spot that will ge your issue. Rarely do i find issues in the connections inside the door.

I'm having a problem with the car unlocking taking multiple presses. I can see the door plastic indicators move a little but not fully. This is to all 4 doors though, not just one. Where would this receiver generally be located?

I have a question if you press the power lock/unlock button (on door & key fob) and the door sometimes unlocks, but most of the time stays locked... would that be the actuator or the latch?

There are times when central lock doesn't open by hand that's why it takes some time before i can get out of the car..like it is stucked on the lock position it needs a lot of effort before it opens..what could be the solution to this? 2008 mazda 3 AT 1.6 Thanks.

Wouldn't trying to unlock the door with another doors unlock switch pre determine that the actuator on the door is broken?

My key fob works, my keyless entry works on passenger side and opens all doors, but not on the driver side. Works from inside and out as well. Recently had car door replaced. Any ideas what could have stopped this from working? I need this fixed...please help! 2015 Toyota Venza

My issue is my front passenger door doesn’t always unlock when I push my key remote. Sometimes it does unlock though. I normally have to manually unlock it from the inside opening up another door, but normally the mechanical unlock level is partially moved but not enough to unlock it fully. So I wasnt sure if it something may be sticking or something needs to be lubed or replaced.

Just acquired a 2005 TnC and the fob activates all of the actuators, you can hear them all clicking, but only the drivers door actually unlocks,thoughts ?

Question, is the VVT solenoid on a 03 base model Mini Cooper in the same area as an 03 S model? Because I dont see it on the left back side of the head? Is it different for base model?

From the inside on my car the buttons to unlock and lock ...from my experience they usually work when the car is off but they only work when the car is on i have an infiniti g35 2008 is that normal or would something be wrong.

I changed the window master switch for a Nissan Rogue 2008 SL AWD as I had intermittent issues with the windows (sometimes they would be stuck and not respond) After I replaced it, I noticed that when I press the door/unlock switch of the driver and passenger sides, I hear the "click" of the door lock/unlock but the doors remain unlocked. I am not sure if it is an electrical issue, as I can lock my car just fine by manually lock from the door handle by using my manual keyfob.

I have a 2000 Buick Park Avenue and my front passenger door is locked and I am not able to unlock it. It won't unlock with a key from the outside nor will it unlock by pulling the handle from the inside. I know it's the door lock actuator now however the door panel is on and I am not able to access the rods or the door lock actuator. Help, how do I fix this?

I have a strange issue, hoping someone may know the answer. I can lock and unlock my door by hand, but it is definitely harder to push or pull the lock than it used to be. And when I use the button or key fob the lock will move both up and down but will not actually travel far enough to actually lock or unlock the door. So I know I have power. Im thinking now that the internals of either of door latch or actuator are damaged, causing the travel to be more difficult. Anyone have any idea which one is most likely the issue? Thanks

I have 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor I lost all power to all door lock and dome light even door remote don't work.same with hazard light and blinker quit and notice my windshield wipers only on one speed slow. The head light only come on when keys is on position. All fuse and relay is good any idea?

You should remove the door panel and examine the lock and door rods. It sounds like the door rods have come loose on one end. Possibly the plastic locks broke over time and allowed the door rods to slip out.

Home depot sells a air pump bag that you put in between the car door , pump it until you have enough room to unlock with like a clothes hanger or any other things. I hope this helps you.
