Maybe pressing the button on the remote a little faster might fix it. Or maybe…just maybe pushing and pulling the knob a little faster will probably definitely fix it. Once you get a little closer to the speed of sound with that knob the truck will know your serious and start working properly. 🤦♂️

Bruh.. its an old habit for guys that have either rode in or drove in vehicles that were from the 80's & 90's. Lord knows that method worked on a 94 Nissan Pathfinder I used to drive. So its a stuck force of habit. Kinda like banging on a remote control or rotating the batteries in it. It's an addictive habit that's worst than cigarettes. Because there's always that 50% chance of it going to plan.. or end in a disastrous mess. Pwahahaha 😂 🤣

AROD, Ive owned Ford trucks, f150, rangers, explorers for many years (30+) and most long term. I've had door actuator issues with every one of them especially after 5 year from new. I'd bet they are the same part#, vendor for a long time.

In this case, I imagine the actuator motor works fine. The motor uses a cable to set the lock, which winds around a plastic part much like a window regulator. It cracks and doesn't keep enough tension or placement of the cable so motor does its thing, but cable goes sideways and lock doesn't get locked/unlocked.

Welcome to the club. My rear door lock actuators broke around 40k miles. At the time there was a recall that only dealt with the lock freezing (doors kind of opened themselves at hughway speeds), and didn't address the freezing also broke the plastic guide labyrinth the lock actuator cable used to connect to the lock. Those were really hard to find for awhile, as apparently I wasn't the only one with the actuator problem.
