Hello~ what are the cons of living at the top floor?
@THEBOWLSFOLKS2 жыл бұрын
well... we would say that rainwater may splash into the house especially the service yard area, higher ceiling means higher expenses when it comes to carpentry, curtains and fixtures that needs to be high up to the ceiling! other than that, it's mostly positives 🤗

Not sure which kind of flooring to choose for my BTO. Able to share which flooring did you chose and what are the reasons for choosing it? Especially for different rooms! Thanks!
@THEBOWLSFOLKS3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, we will be overlaying the existing flooring provided by HDB with vinyl for our living room & bedroom, and the floor & wall tiles for our bathrooms. As for the kitchen, we will be keeping the floor tiles HDB provided. :) We chose vinyl because it is more cost-effective and more suitable for pets as it is water/fire/scratch resistant! I think you can search up "Best type of flooring" and lots of guides/articles would come up and you can research from there as well as those are same reasons that we chose them! 😊😊

Wah your unit quite a lot of defects that are quite obvious huh.. I am comparing against the ones I had when I got my unit. One piece of advice: since you are facing the greenery forest, I think you can expect insects and bugs flying into your unit quite often. I lived on 16th floor facing Punggol Park.. and this is what my unit experienced.. my kids sometimes will get frightened by the bugs if they are slightly bigger in size :)
@THEBOWLSFOLKS3 жыл бұрын

@THEBOWLSFOLKS3 жыл бұрын
Yea, we had a lot of time to think about what we wanted for our renovation (especially with the delays 😝) For the floor plan, we actually got ours when we booked our flat (back in 2019), so you should likely get your floor plan when you go down to HDB to book your flat as well! 🤔👍

Your bedroom should be further in the flat due to privacy, living room should be at the doorway, if you put your bedroom at the doorway people can see your bed once you open your door and also your wardrobe is blocking the light from the window making your lobby area very dark.

Nice video, the view from the living room is great!! It seems the master bedroom and kitchen a bit small. Perhaps the small size of kitchen due to the concept of the open kitchen or assumption of pple don really cook nowadays? haha >< look forward to more updates..
@THEBOWLSFOLKS3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, we agree! But that's the downside of a 3-room, the space is definitely more limited and also generally, BTO flats are becoming smaller in size too 😭😭

I saw that you guys opt for hdb ocs tiles and going to heck away some of the wall. Was wondering how are you guys going to patch back the same tiles from hdb?
@THEBOWLSFOLKS3 жыл бұрын
Hi, our BTO project actually comes with full floor finishes, internal doors, and sanitary fittings. We didn't have the choice to opt out from it (probably as it is a shorter waiting time project)! So, we will be overlaying with another vinyl flooring of our choice. Although, HDB does provide about 5 pieces of extra tiles/flooring for the ones that they provided :) Hope this answers your question! 😊
@yvonneneo50773 жыл бұрын
@@THEBOWLSFOLKS oh cool! Are the 5 extra tiles/flooring enough to patch back to the area that are being hack? Do you guys have any idea if it’s possible to get extra tiles from HDB if required? Thanks for the help in advance! :)
@THEBOWLSFOLKS3 жыл бұрын
because we have not started to do the patching as of now, we're still not that sure if it's enough. But from eyeballing it, it ~should be~ enough 😂 and yes, you can purchase extra tiles from your BSC or alternatively, ask around your neighbours who would be willing to give you theirs if they don't need it 😄👍

Heya nice design and different swapping the bedroom with the living room. Just one consideration on the placement of the washing machine, it may need to be at the "fridge side" bcos thats where the waste water discharge pipe (pipe sticking out of the floor) is at. Additionally the water outlet is at that wall also. Enjoy the process !
