My driver;s side view mirror had to be replaced. With the help of your video, I was able to get the door apart and gain access to the mirror mounting bolts. Thanks!

​@@kaylaholmes5462 The source is rust/corrosion (due to poor insulation/waterproofing) around the speaker frame which causes the speaker diaphragm to disconnect from the frame. Super gluing it back together should stop the rattling.

@@elvicentefernandez nah, i remove the door panel and it was only a sort of plastic attached to the speaker, not the speaker itself. I simply cut it with a knife

Yes, I try to remember to disconnect the battery anytime I need to unplug or tap any electrical connectors. No signals or dash lights appear after. I have noticed that it causes the ECU to reset, affecting some accessory settings like radio stations presets and single tap window up/down setting.

After removal, all the rivets remained stuck in the door and I can’t seem to get them out. Any advice? Thanks

I was doing this just this weekend as well and the same thing happened. You need a rivet removing tool, like special pliers to get under that plastic circle and pull, they pop right off. Don't try with a regular screwdriver, most likely won't work and will break the rivet.

I guess its too late to mention, but I was going to recommend using the rivet tool to remove the rivets and door panel or else you might tear the door panel rivet holes apart. Once that happens the door panel won't stay tight agsinst the door.

I need to install heated mirrors on my cx 5 2017, apparently mine does not have it even though it is the GT with all the other tech ad ons, stupid if you ask me

Yea that’s unfortunate, are they mentioned in the manual? Some vehicles heated mirrors turn on when the rear defroster is turned on. They do seem fairly straightforward to install though, good luck!

I haven’t noticed a difference, next time I will try a higher quality insulation.

Due to rattling? I hope you haven't replaced it yet as the source is likely the speaker diaphragm becoming disconnected from the speaker frame due to rust. Easily fixable with a bit of super glue.
