Become efficient. Cherry pick only accept good orders and if it's a busy you can make $20 to $25 per hour. Download a mileage tracking app and you can deduct 58 cents per mile from you taxes

I have a felony and I'm a Dasher. I was a stupid young adult and have cigarettes to an inmate at a prison I worked for. Contraband conviction. Thank the Lord for second chances. First and only trouble with the law. Learned a very tough lesson about something that seemed so small

Door Dash does not require a car. Transportation vehicle is city dependent. I know someone that has done Door Dash on a motorcycle. Still requires a valid license, current registration, and current insurance.

I drive a 2012 v6 mustang and I only spend around 100 on gas and that car isn’t really known to have good gas mileage even if it’s just a v6 but I like the flexibility I get.I quit my minimum wage job because it’s stressful and I wanted to achieve some goals that my schedule wasn’t allowing for .

The main thing I wanted to know about was the schedule thing, because i'm type of person that likes to just get up and do things when I feel like it and rather not have to work a specific schedule. While I do get a lot done, the times I do it are never consistent. Thanks for the info. Glad I don't have to worry about it.

I started it as a side gig yesterday since my hours got cut to part time at my main job.Had a delivery that only got me $3.75 and was a 20 minute drive but also had a delivery that got me $10 and was only 5 minutes. It really just varies. Still ended the 4 hour shift with $54

I always check the total miles I would have to drive before accepting the delivery. If its low pay and a lot of miles I just let it count down, no cap..

I've done ubereats, and postmates. Doordash is great because you know the tip that is included which shows u what you're getting paid total. Other apps you wont know the tip until later.

When you sign up to deliver for Door Dash, the application will list the mode(s) of transportation options (city/town/location dependent according to Door Dash). I’m my area it was car, motorcycle, and bike (it may have displayed bicycle); however, not all delivery areas offer all transportation options. I have my car and my motorcycle registered with Door Dash.

How does it work for when you have to file your taxes ?

You're classified as an independent contractor and would be sent a 1099 form instead of a W2. However you are only sent this when you reach 600 dollars or more in payment. This is also why it's important to keep track of your mileage spent while on the job as its a tax deductible since you're using your car's gas and mileage for job purposes specifically. Same applies to anything specifically job related(i.e. a phone for handling orders, bags for storage, etc work relevant things that aren't for personal use). You would normally file your taxes around the same time of year but if you owe more than $1000 in taxes, you should be filing quarterly. This also means you're paying for your own social security and medicare, rather than it being automatically taken out for you as would an hourly job usually does. Also, gas is not a deductible because the government already includes this in your mileage count and average cost of gas per state.

Yes, funny story actually... at the time (I was 18) and I signed up for Ubereats.. and they would only let 18 year olds deliver on bike or walking (and I was NOT about to bike around dallas lol) So I signed up for Doordash!

Mynamesjeff shifts are nice because you have your set hours locked in before other people, sometimes if you don’t schedule a shift, the area might not be busy and you wont be able to log on right away till it gets busy again
