Make sure to have a dash cam , my dash cam has about 3 weeks worth of videos. I save video on ones that say leave at door but you hand to them, I always make sure to keep my dash cam pointed in that direction. If it is an apartment i and it says leave at door and hand it to me , I just go to my cam and take a picture.

I agree with taking pictures whether it is hand to me or leave it. It covers both parties. I had a driver deliver my food to the completely wrong apartment building and unit and took a picture proving this error.

I had to learn the hard way. Two customers, hand it to me, even said have a nice day and right after they took the order they told Doordash they never got it!! But Doordash did their investigation and thank goodness I am still active!! I do Doordash full time so it was so scary while waiting to find out. Be safe!!🤑😷

I put my iPhone on record every time there’s a hand it to the customer order. That way if that happens there’s obvious proof. It looks like I’m just holding my phone but I’m recording their address and food

That’s the scary thing, straight fraud from customers that jeopardizes your job. I anticipate DD is getting a lot of push back on this and I would guess they’ll have a revision down the line

Hey Mike! I got my first DD contract violation yesterday but you won’t believe how🤦♂️. I got a Chinese food delivery to a hotel. The customer wanted me to bring food at his room. I usually start the 5 minutes waiting timer on my way to the door. The customer decided to come out to the main entrance , yelled at me for starting the timer and took food. After leaving the place, I got a notification from DD that my last delivery was not delivered. The mind blowing part is that I recognized the customer. He is a fellow DD driver and we met and talked at several restaurants. I explained to DD what happened and let them know that I have a bodycam and a bodycam to back my statement. The violation was removed this morning. I am amazed that another driver can stab me in the back 🤦🏼♂️👀

I video record regardless if its no contact or hand it to me. I'm not playing any games with liars and thieves, trust NOONE. Ive had people put leave at door and then they pop out and try to get the food from you while you are taking the picture. You don't know any of these customers personally so treat them as such...document, document, document! I'd be weary of stacked orders as well..if its two orders from a restaurant you know isn't fast..dont take it. Got a late delivery that wasn't my fault because the restaurant that had both orders late 🙃

Had the worst ridiculous extreme late contract violation today. I marked arrived, walked in and they told me the order was going to be 15 minutes..so I went outside, then 12 minutes later the actual restaurant is calling me "it says you are here, but you didn't get the order " it was a sushi place. I told her she told me it was going to be 15 minutes, and she said no its been ready for awhile. I get the order and hit picked up and the time to deliver is already passed..it was 12:26 and it said deliver by 12:23. So I contact support while I'm driving and tell them what's going on, they didn't really do anything and when I dropped the order off I got an extreme late to pickup 16 minutes. It counted when I picked the food up when I marked picked up order obviously, but I had already been inside and swipe arrived I was waiting for the food. I think this happened because the restaurant actually uses the tablet, and maybe it was marked ready when I got told 15 more minutes? Needless to say I hate seeing that contract violation on the top of the screen, and think there is definitely something wrong with that system. Also lately I've been getting orders with hardly enough time to get to the restaurant, like today I had 4 minutes until pickup time and I was driving the wrong way away from the restaurant and would have to turn around and there was a bunch of traffic so I actually unassigned because I didn't want some more extreme late garbage to come up.

I recently was 15 minutes late to a house because I accepted a double/stacked order and DoorDash told me to drop off the second order first since it was closer. So I did, but the restaurant was just so slow (not even that busy), and because of me accepting & waiting on the second order, it made my first order super late. Just something for me to learn for the future!

Thanks for sharing Alyssa, I would sometimes check the delivery order of stacked requests just to double check what DD says in the app but even if you received a contract violation hopefully this is a one off occurrence

I had a few contract violations. That's why I always take a picture before I hand the food to the customer. Then fill out a form a form that DoorDash sent me thereafter when the customer report me for "food not received" when I have the picture. Incredible!

My wake up call was this last December. Got rear-ended and, the Uber Eats App paused my account for six weeks. Was a Diamond level Pro at the time and, receiving great high paying orders. I was on Grubhub, Doordash, and Postmates so immediately turned on DoorDash as a secondary app to Grubhub. Always have backups, as of late I'm still green level pro because I largely get crappy low paying orders on Uber Eats. I have to be more selective to make it worth my while.

You can never be deactivated over your acceptance rate. You are an independent contractor and can decline any order for any reason. My acceptance rate got as low as 7% at one point. I usually average between 20% to 30%. If you don't believe me read it for yourself. It clearly states in DoorDash's ICA that Dashers can never be deactivated over their acceptance rate. It's really only there for people who are trying to be a Top Dasher. Being a Top Dasher though isn't worth it at all. Live by the motto "no tip means no trip" and decline those Wal-Mart and other shopping orders. Those customers rarely tip and the employees take too long bringing the order out to your vehicle. Not to mention those times you get 6 cases of water or 4 large bags of dog food.

It is a shame how paranoid we as drivers need to be delivering on any app. I see these young teens on apps like TikTok bragging about getting free food etc..and it's awful. On the flip side, I did have an Uber Eats driver steal my food. Watched him drive up in front of my house, marked as delivered and drove off. There are dishonest people on both ends. Thank you for the tips on covering ourselves. Better safe than sorry

Is it every 100 deliveries that roll off a bad rating or every 100 ratings left? I started out with two 1 start because I wasn't sure what I was doing, but now I'm getting all 5's. I have 23 5's and 2 1's for a 4.68 rating.

Also, should add, what Door Dash currently says your rating is compared to what the app says. I have been trying to get more info out of DD for two weeks. They say that my rating is 4.43 when I asking why I do not have access to early access scheduling. The app show my rating is 4.84. The only reply I receive is the escalation team confirms your rating is 4.43, the app just may not be updated. Find it hard to believe with the huge difference and that it has been over two weeks.

DoorDash delays customer ratings because they remove unfair ratings that Dashers get from customers. Customer ratings are moronic anyways because multiple studies have been done and each confirm that customers are 10 times more likely to leave a negative review over a bad experience than they are to leave a positive review over a good experience. Humans love to complain. The ratings system should be abolished entirely.

Thanks for the videos, I feel it is great advice for anyone looking to get into the gig economy. I love working but worry about being deactivated from DoorDash for a silly reason that is out of my control. I have a W-2 job right now, i left a job I had been at for the last 12 years last year as a diesel mechanic. I switched to being a class b truck driver. Both jobs are good but my main issue as I suspect for other jobs is getting my vacation time approved. Companies always seem to say they are too busy and want you to take vacation another time and it becomes a headache (and I had more than 120 hours vacation time). Then I wanted to take another vacation two months later and “you just took vacation, why again”. I would like to be more in charge of my schedule and when I work. Multiple streams of income, I will start this year. Thank you.

If is says hand to customer I get out of the car ready to take a pic and text that to customer, usually with the numbers to the address. That goes to Doordash as well. So I have proof.

If you weren’t on the platform there shouldn’t be an issue. If they rerun your background check and if this causes a flag on your account however there may be an issue.

@@YourDriverMike it's been really difficult since I was deactivated there have been periods when I started with Uber Eats last yr that I don't receive orders. I'm moving to Portland once I receive the Stimulus relief fund. All I can do is improve with this in Oregon. I have appealed multiple times with Door Dash and they haven't let me back with the company.

My completion rate is slowly dropping because I no longer do any delivery when a tip is not included. This is mainly due to stacked order requests. DoorDash loves to combine tipping and non-tipping customers in a stacked order. With the revelation that Outback Steakhouse and some other restaurants are stealing delivery driver tips when the customer orders from the restaurant's website or app and pocketing the tip themselves I no longer do any delivery when a tip is not included. It's very simple to unassign a non-tipping customer with a stacked order request. Simply click on the customer info and unassign the customer that isn't tipping and deliver to the customer that is tipping. When I figured this out I now have a 100% tip rate on my past 40 deliveries. My completion rate is now at 93% and I expect it to average out and stay right around 90%.

okay so i work at mcdonalds and i'm also a dasher. we always have this one dasher come in and when we ask him to contact the customer in case of us not having certain things on the menu, he does not wanna contact the customer and just simply leaves and unassigns the order. he probably does the same thing everywhere he goes. i wonder how is he still with the company lmfao

Really doesn’t take much time, call and text and if they don’t respond continue with the order and state so in a text to the customer citing they didn’t respond.
