Re today the other thing you have to do is watch the 1 and 2 star raters. I got a 2 star today from a different day. Drops your rating 4 points. 1 in 500 customers rate you so you have to be on it with the low raters. My strategey has been to call support and ask them to block the customer from me taking future deliveries, they usually will. They will ask if you felt unsafe and I say unsafe for my ratings if I deliver to them again. Anyway something to think about to protect yourself and staying top dasher. I also tend to stop doing add routes mid month so you don't get the no tippers they stack and the low raters.

Me and another driver put this to the test for a month- 1 dasher with a 80% AR vs 1 dasher with 40% AR working the same shifts side by side.... Bottom line- money earned over the same shifts was virtually the same but the high AR driver drove A LOT more miles to earn that same money. So after expenses the TD kept less of his money vs the cherry picker. High AR just means you're constantly taking two steps forward and one step back vs constantly moving forward.

If the dollar amount of pay is lower than the number of miles cited for the trip, you'd likely be losing money to fuel cost. If the dollar pay and mileage numbers are the same, you'll likely only break even. Biking would eliminate fuel cost but, Doordash isn't likely to limit giving you orders further than 6 miles total distance. Further than 6 miles on a bike, the delivery quality starts to fall. Doordash won't even officially allow the bike option for Dashers in all markets anyway.

Similar here, its not great everywhere but if you have multiple zones sometimes you can find one that works well for EBT, there are definitely good and terrible EBT markets, but if you find a good one the mileage is high but personally found the pay good, not amazing but solid 20-25 just with like 2x more miles. Depends how you feel about your vehicles mileage and maintenance (or lack there of), but with relatively reliable high mpg vehicle it can be nice way to get yourself out of a low acceptance rate pinch.
@cmudd9788 Жыл бұрын
If you're in a big enough market, same day scheduling is not impossible. You just have to be willing to get up at 6 AM and wait for someone that has scheduled an all day shift to abandon their shift and the times will open up. There's always drivers grabbing up every shift they can just to secure them in case they want to work that day. A lot of those shifts end up getting abandoned last minute. It will usually happen between 6 and 8 AM. I dash in Augusta Ga and could get scheduled any day of the week like that before getting top dasher this month to see if it would actually be worth it in a diamond market.

So am I… I don’t care what you say; When Jacob adds up all the miles, gas, and time utilized to get to this, he will realize it is not profitable. DoorDash knows that, and with interest rates increased, they don’t have free money to pass around. Ironically… I reset my acceptance rate back in October of last year, when all the snowbirds are here in the valley (metro PHX.). The offers I was getting then was not even worth it. The algorithm is set up to do this, so it can see times dashing, relative cost vs loss, net profit ect. I have realized… you have to cherry pick and go the extra mile for the customer, pun intended. I communicate with the customer throughout the entire process, so that they know there’s a human being on the other side, that I am taking the utmost care of their food, and even reaching out to see if they need any extra stuff ect. Jacob I got to reach out to you since we are in the same market for a long time. I can’t stand when door dash takes you to Fountain Hills, and then you gotta drive all the ways back ect. Def gotta message you. I have an idea for how to help you increase tips… Hi regularly have customers going back and increasing my tip on DoorDash, not even just Uber, and that’s because I utilize all the proper bags, which means having the investment of the top possible bags for regular orders, and the best bags for catering. We are not robots…. Reach out to the customer, even if it means picking up the telephone, it reminds them that you are a person going out of your way to make sure that they get the best possible experience. I should start a channel, but Jacob Warren is a fellow brother like me, last name Friedman! ;) 😃😃 Jacob I will pm you. I have helped a lot in this area, And I guarantee if I tell you what I do, you will see how much your tips increase.

We should get a live chat going on this channel, esp for those of us in the valley/metro PHX. Jacob, like for DoorDash, you are missing out on the easiest area to get quick dashes done, and make easy money. I didn’t even realize it until I spoke with another Uber driver, and I’m sure you are close to the 101…. So Jacob and my PHX/Gilbert/Scottsdale friends. If we all collaborate, you will see how the market improves. I have a 99% customer service rating and 100% on DoorDash, even after delivering the low ball orders. I will explain why/how, but let’s get a live chat going! I also want to talk about the pitfalls ect of DoorDash long term. An open forum! Do it Jacob!

Jacob works in a really profitable area he just isn’t seeing as many bangers over $20+ since he made top dasher. In July I was not qualified when I was told to maintain 68% based on my market. For the month of August I was not qualified even though I had 70% and took a screenshot with the time and date indicating I met the criteria. I even got an email after calling support telling me I qualified and gave me some bs reference number. I was told by another rep that I was 68% when I was 70. Why does Door Dash play these games with the $+ orders? Like why not just tell me that I'm getting $15 for 5 miles? Why do they have to say $9+ for miles instead? You want me to take the order, just tell me wtf it is. They really think I'm going to turn down an order for $15 going 5 miles if they just straight up tell me what the pay is? Some of these little games they play are annoying. I'm kinda convinced they hold tips from drivers that aren't top dashers honestly. Like if I have a 12% acceptance rate they give me an order for $8 for 3 miles and hold money from you. But if you're a top dasher the exact same order would show $8+ for 3 miles and it ends up being a $14 order. Therefore they'd be holding $6 away from a driver that's not a top dasher 🤷🏾♂️
