How does an instacart shopper see a 20 dollar tip for a 200 dollar order 4 miles away?

i’ve gotten a couple $50 orders since being platinum, majority are 5-10 or more

Quests are great, but you only get them at night and I HATE delivering at night.

I've never heard of the tip hiding over 8 dollars. That must be in select areas. I get them often for more than 8 dollars.

I disagree about produce, as it is all right there, in one section with very little brand name, variation searches, like freaking shampoo and anything skin care! Hahaha! LOVE working for Instacart! But, that's cause I've always loved shopping.

This guy wasn't prepared, AT ALL. Talk about winging it. Dude, didn't even go through the onboarding process 100%. This is why they only give you, like 2 orders, to start, because I imagine most of ya'll aren't as prepared as you could be.

Solo does not track mileage correctly

That is not true. Most people who work in the hospitality industry live in apartment. Those are the people who are going to truly appreciate your service. Wealthy people are wealthy because they hold on to their money. I would rather to deliver to a hard-working lower middle class customer instead of someone who lives in a mansion.

I've only been doing food deliveries for a couple weeks, and I use Uber Eats and DoorDash only at this point. One topic I haven't heard discussed is declining vs. ignoring an offer when multi-apping. Are ignoring and declining the same thing? I have been physically declining offers. Am I doing it wrong?

All depends on the market, for years part time only did Uber eats, just recently started door dash, DD here is leagues better. The payout per mile is far better here for DD compared to uber eats, im ditching uber eats, i just signed up for Grub hub, and if it's better, i'm replacing uber eats with it.

with multi-app'ing are you using solo or everlance?

I can pull 100$ in about an hour and half two hours. Most of the time, hit or miss but for the most part. I do something most don’t. Most people go into busy cities, and I sit in built up richer towns. Where they’re populated, but more money. Most the deliveries are minimum 17$ plus hidden tips. So making about 20-25 minimum on most deliveries.

Do you do post mates at all?

This happened to me today, today was my first time multiapping, I was driving near Tempe with my Uber eats order and I had door dash running and a really good Pizza Hut order came in on DoorDash, I already had the Uber order and so it hurt to reject that offer from Pizza Hut. I thought about it but I decided against it since I’m a rookie and I didn’t trust myself being stuck in this predicament. My first time multiapping was very good.

I delivered 5 case of water on 3rd floor..I got no.tips. made so mad.

I feel stupid. Been looking into driving for Uber eats in my free time after using the app for a couple years.. I have exclusively tipped 10 dollars or more for every order I requested with every restaurant being within 1-4 miles. I thought I was being cheap 😂

That’s what I hate the most is the high rise “luxury” apartments. Especially when the customer doesn’t provide any info like gate codes, building numbers, or door codes. It’s frustrating. That’s why I avoid Tempe

If you know your city well, I’ve had orders where they are only couple blocks away from another restaurant and damn near the same neighborhood sometimes it goes your way and sometimes you gotta use your head

GrubHub is way better. My ex ruined my account so I had to go with DoorDash. Tips are way better on GH and easy access you just have to turn it on and you start getting orders. My completion rate is 94% took me from platinum to silver just for that yet I’m good on everything except else. I’m just here to vent, they suck!

Doordashing for the next two months as a side hustle while the main one is taking off. I am surprised no one mentions back taxes which you owe and will have to pay come April 15th of the following year (plus gas, insurance, good old car maintenance).

GH was a really good side hustle for me mostly on weekends. I'd clear 250/300 a weekend working in 2 hour shifts for lunch and dinner. Now I'm lucky if I make a hundred dollars during those same times. Was out tonight for two hours and made 10 dollars. I am not sure what happened but it's a HUGE difference now.

I stopped going by the time check . It’s stressful and gives me anxiety. I would rather give the customer great service, the right, products, make sure there are no dents and expiration dates are good that rush and miss things. I make up for by drive times most of the time and I walk pretty fast .

Smaller cities like Jacksonville, FL ( has 800 thousand people ) allow DoorDash to pay only 6 dollars an hour after gas and taxes !!!
