The thing with the soldiers from Vietnam is : 1.they used drugs mainly to remove their consciousness from the horrors of war, so by getting back home they no longer had this need 2.Its unlikely that someone who finds great satisfaction with their life will use substances like that, by returning home they found satisfaction and weren't dependent on drugs 3.The environment plays a key role in our day-to-day development it's undeniable and we have some control over our environment. 4.Someone who is under the stressful situations of begin exposed to death in any moment had to get something in order to keep going. It's not that I Disagree with you it's just that I think that are also other comments to the equation Thank you

"Dopamine Detox" is an oxymoron. First, because it's NOT a toxic substance. Second, because the problem is not the amount of dopamine, but your baseline which has been altered for DECADES. Making a "fast" for a day will do shit. What really helps is just quitting stuff like porn, drugs, sugar, social media, etc.

I don’t think “quitting” some of these things is the answer. I think it leads back to the old saying of “too much of anything is not good” or “moderation”. Being self aware is the key. You mentioned porn, drugs & social media which are terrible but even learning or going to the gym too often needs to be scaled back at times. For example; I recently took a break from learning. For the past 3 months I’ve spent an average of 4 hours daily learning by reading and listening to audio books. I took a break and allocated my time to put things into practice and create balance by enjoying other things in life.

@@Leo-mt7qr I think it is more important to understand how habits work. If you quit something the quittin itself can be another habit.
