I grow up in Dorado and I left when I was 19 to serve my country, now I live in PR and visit my parents regularly (They still living in Dorado). Dorado is a beautiful place, beaches, food, the roads all well kept. There is a lot to see in Dorado. PS. Dorado have a history in sports also, Baseball players like Yadier Molina, Edgar Martinez, Carmelo Martinez are from Dorado.

I am a local and I lived in Dorado for 10 years. The trick is the closest to the beach you are, the subdivision gets more expensive. The closest to the express way the houses are more cheaper. You can find houses in the low 200k and less near the express way and only 10 minutes driving ro the beach.

I loved the video but at first thought it was almost obscene there were so many multi-million dollar places there. Felt a lot better when they got down to the $375K and below range though.(more obtainable.) I've driven thru Dorado but never went thru any of the gates, so it surely was interesting driving thru there and seeing everything. It was a lot larger than I thought it was. Thanks for the video.

Diane have you ever been to the other part of Dorado? Have you ever seen how the locals live in poverty? It’s shameful. I’m ashamed and you should be too. People like you come to get tax incentives and don’t think about how we really have it here. The working class pay over 30% tax. You come here to retire early and live in “paradise”, when the locals can’t never retire and the ones that have retires from government jobs are living in fear because their little pension it’s being cut because of the island’s bankruptcy situation. I don’t think those houses are worth 7M, rich people are being robbed and they sort of deserve it.
@joserodriguez61732 жыл бұрын
I don't think they see it as getting robbed when they clearly have the means to live how and where they want.. when the rich come in, the poor start to slowly get taken get out of the equation, they don't see this as getting robbed, they are buying you out.

Hi ! Nice video , any recommendations to eat in Dorado ? That’s the only struggle I’m having 😭
@dorkladytravels3 жыл бұрын
There's lots of good places. Some of our favorites include that taco place, Vagon, and the little outdoor place two doors down for burgers (forgot the name), Pirilo, KGB Kitchen, Metropol, that Japanese, Chinese, and chi-chi Mexican place in the same shopping center (can't remember the names), La Terraza, La Vaca, Grappa, the Asian place behind First Bank near Hacienda (a great little market for gourmet foods), Happy Crab... that's one of the really great things about Dorado-there are so many good places to eat out!

Hey Diane, I absolutely love the content you're willing to bring to us - especially this video because I'm considering moving here within the next few years. May I suggest using a gimbal for future videos? I enjoy tagging along in the car ride, but I cannot help but get motion sickness 😂. Anyways, thanks a lot. Me pueden explicar que pasa con esa ley ?
@xNemesiSxPR3 жыл бұрын

Not everyone's a millionaire & can afford it & when these rich people from the mainlands are buying up all these expensive properties it affects the hardworking blue collar & middle class locals & mainland people too who are looking for a place to buy but aren't rich who can't afford to buy a home because it raises up the house pricies for them & I think that's very sad 😢

@hildaovalle14553 жыл бұрын
You must also realize that these “ tax evaders” as you called them are bringing a lot of money to the island in the way of real estates, cars, services, restaurants, food, clothing ,etc. So, I welcome them because Puerto Rico cannot rely just on tourism and the little else we have. Let’s be fair!

What do you think of Rio Mar?
@pcthayer3 жыл бұрын
I'm not into real estate, but have vacationed at Rio Mar perhaps 30 times over the last 20 years. (both at the hotel and the villas in the different clusters). I would say there are more vacationers there than year round residents there (The villas get more crowded on the weekends since many I think use them as their "weekend get-away homes"). There are a handful of large standalone homes, but mostly condos. It is a great place with the fantastic long beach. I love it there. If you golf there are great courses there too. (It doesn't have the big stores and strip malls nearby like Dorado has, so you have to travel a few miles to shop, etc.) If I move to Puerto Rico not sure if Rio Mar will be my first choice, but it could be a consideration.
