Looks delicious and I will definitely try to make it. The thaka i've had in Haiti always had joumou in them, didn't know we could make it without.
@dorannette264 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and yes you can make it without adding joumou (squash). Some people add it, to give it a nice color.

You can add coconut milk and pumpkin or yellow squash if you want.

Cooking is an art, you can add whatever you like! No one said you could not add those items!! If your responding to what my mom said, she was referring to the traditional way of making this dish. This was before you and I or my mom was born, they did not add those items to tchaka. As a Chef myself, I am very creative, when cooking for my clients.

Hi Annette you must live in Little Haiti or Miami I just came back from visiting yesterday . I drove all the way from Texas , I went to bravo like you said I found the ti machann sazon I put a few in the basket , I found Djon Djon took a lot to sale , I found maggie Djon only 10.99! I was shocked because Haitians are charging $48 for only 10 out the box which isn’t fair at all . I spent $400 worth family was asking got everything lol 😂
@dorannette264 жыл бұрын
No, I don't live in Miami or little Haiti. I live in broward. Bravo supermarket market is in more than one area. I glad you were able to find the goodies, by the way enjoy your trip to Florida.
