I don't really have much experience with team magic cars so I can't comment on that. The OT is a pretty good truck those smaller than these. I think the 10208 is a decent vehicle though if you're looking for a first car or your only basher you might want to go with something that has a bit more time under its belt as no one really knows how this thing's going to do long-term yet.

Good upgrades. A guy could definitely do better than those Techno shocks but they did work & you had them on hand . The ESC really brought that rig to life. 42mph is plenty for a basher rig. That servo would make a nice addition to almost any 1/10 scale running a stock servo from the big 2.

Honestly by the time you convert everything you'd probably be better off just selling the Typhon and getting a notorious. @DoRC I can get the parts from jennysrc for about 250 for what I would need that I don't have already. This typhon is highly modified especially with RGB under-glow lights wirh specially made metal channels for the light strips. I tried monster truck tires once without adding long arms it just hit the body. I've seen truggified typhons. I basically want to keep as much of the TLR Stuff as possible especially the chassis. Does the xt60 plug effect the C rating on the battery?
@DoRC4 ай бұрын
It doesn't affect the c rating of the battery itself but it can affect the amount of power it can actually deliver so in effect kind of. The connector is a point of resistance and it's kind of like sticking a light bulb in the middle of the wiring. It will turn some of the energy coming from the battery into heat and the smaller the connector the worse that effect will be.

Hi! Great video! Your channel is one of the best IMO. Wish you had much more cars to review and bash ) Well, the sweet part kinda ends here ) To be honest, I'm kinda tekno-boy, sooo I got my s burning, when you say tekno shocks aren't up to the task. You're supposed to have the droop screws so the shocks do not overextend. Maybe that's why the caps blow off )
@DoRC4 ай бұрын
Yeah it's possible but to be fair I have also had the same thing happen on the MT-410 2.0 with the droop screw set correctly so I think It's a weak point with the shocks.
@T0x1c0v3r4 ай бұрын
@@DoRC fair enough ) well yes, plastic shock caps often don't stay on anyway. One of possible reasons, ithink, that droop screws get pushed through the arms. The stiffer the springs - the faster.
@DoRC4 ай бұрын
@@T0x1c0v3r Yeah it's entirely possible but I will say that I've had lots of other cars with plastic shock caps that didn't fail. It is a little disappointing to have such a fundamental thing be a weak point on such an expensive car.

@@DoRC Tekno's are commonly very good for racing, but when they do a "basher", it's always the same lightweight racing parts. One of the best options is to sell the light parts, when they are still new and get tougher part
@DoRC4 ай бұрын
@@T0x1c0v3r oh yeah for sure. They're just really weren't very many tougher parts available when I got my MT410 2.0. I pre-ordered it and put it together the first few days it was out. I haven't really messed with it a whole lot since then. Tekno has aluminum shock caps available.

Probably the OT. It's a more refined vehicle and whereas I'm not sure it's actually anymore durable I like the design a little bit better

When I had a ec5 connectors I could never get them clicked in. I’ve been using xt90 anti spark on everything for years but with so many brands using ec5/ic5 I keep entertaining a switch. I just hate the sparking. All my esc connectors look brand new because of the anti spark tech, and you’re supposed to replace esc connectors about every 500 cycles with sparking connectors.
@DoRC4 ай бұрын
Yeah I normally use anti-Spark XT90s and QS8s but the ESC I put in already had an EC5 on it which is the sole reason why I ended up using an EC5 on the battery:)
@TheflyingkiwiRC4 ай бұрын
Use an IC5 connector instead. Super easy to solder, no clicking on required 😂
@dylanwhite65394 ай бұрын
@@TheflyingkiwiRC yea I’m not doing that. One pair of IC5 is the same cost as FIVE PAIRS of xt90 anti spark or ten pairs of sparking type. Horizon can suck my dick for that. If anything. I’d get a few SC5s to start. I guess IC5 isn’t bad if you but a bulk pack but I’d be pissed the day I was one connector short and had to spend $60 to not get price gouged. Also, with the few times I’ve used IC5, I’ve melted the connector in half of them, so I think the plastic they use is shit. I’ve never melted a amass connector

I guess I am going to have to get me one of these. I was worried about the ride hight but after seeing this it's kind of a simple fix! Give me that servo!
@DoRC4 ай бұрын
Yeah it seems to handle the extra down travel pretty easily though The best way to increase ride height in my opinion is just to go with bigger tires. The 2.8 Badlands seem like a great option.

@@DoRC I’m actually modding a Losi mini non prep to be a dirt racer. Any advice to keep the ball ends clipped in?
@DoRC4 ай бұрын
@@Nunez_rc Not really unfortunately. If they are coming apart the best thing to do would be to either find a substitute that would be stronger or if you could figure out some way to screw the ends in instead of using the ball end so that you give it a washer on top of it to prevent them from coming apart That might work.

Maybe though it seems like it takes a long time for new companies to gain traction in the hobby. TC has been making some really good cars they've got strong aftermarket support and they've been doing it for a while. They're just now starting to seemingly be taken seriously by The mainstream in the hobby.
