I'd love to see some longer Arms added to this truck to make the stance wider and provide some better anti-tip performance. But time will tell what would work here for that. I love the 2997A arms on my 1/16 Hyper go
@DoRC3 ай бұрын
The Badlands do make it about an inch wider overall which does help but it is pretty heavily counteracted by the increased suspension down travel.

I don't really have much experience with team magic cars so I can't comment on that. The OT is a pretty good truck those smaller than these. I think the 10208 is a decent vehicle though if you're looking for a first car or your only basher you might want to go with something that has a bit more time under its belt as no one really knows how this thing's going to do long-term yet.

Maybe. If the ESC is capable of doing data logging you can use that to see what kind of current drawings but the other way would just be to run it hard and then put your hand on the connector. It feels warm or hot that means it's dissipating a lot of energy and probably is undersized.

@DoRC3 ай бұрын
It doesn't affect the c rating of the battery itself but it can affect the amount of power it can actually deliver so in effect kind of. The connector is a point of resistance and it's kind of like sticking a light bulb in the middle of the wiring. It will turn some of the energy coming from the battery into heat and the smaller the connector the worse that effect will be.

@@Macgyver46 okay sounds like you have a pretty good plan in mind then. A lot of times people want to do these things but haven't really thought it through. I'd say go for it!
@Macgyver463 ай бұрын
@DoRC oh its been thought out and beyond. I compared them and know the diff gears are different and the shock towers probably don't have the holes I need to mount everything. I already have 30-40% of the parts needed from other rigs I've had.

It seems it needs longer control arms with the longer shocks
@DoRC3 ай бұрын
Eh maybe but I feel like you could just keep changing parts out until you had a completely different truck. To be honest this thing's fun right out of the box. None of these upgrades really needed to be done. That being said the proline tires do make it about an inch wider overall from the stock tires so that's similar to increasing the arm width.
@Nerm783 ай бұрын
I guess I am going to have to get me one of these. I was worried about the ride hight but after seeing this it's kind of a simple fix! Give me that servo!
@DoRC3 ай бұрын
Yeah it seems to handle the extra down travel pretty easily though The best way to increase ride height in my opinion is just to go with bigger tires. The 2.8 Badlands seem like a great option.

Well hopefully the information I'm giving you is accurate. I'm getting it straight from MJX so it should be. Overall I think this is a pretty good deal. Especially at the $260 AliExpress price it undercuts a lot of the competition and has a lot to offer.

@DoRC3 ай бұрын
I'd say it depends on what you already have. If you're buying your first basher or a truck that's going to be your primary basher I would say get the outcast. It's a great truck and parts and upgrades will be more readily available. If you already have some cars and you're just looking to experiment with something new I'd say get this. It's cheaper and pretty fun.

This is what RC is all about, 60% of buyers will be perfectly happy with an RC out the box, meanwhile the other 40% of us will swap out everything we don't like & fit something else to make it do what we want it to.! I'm usually in the 40% btw.! I often start swapping things before I even put a lipo in, especially if it's not a crawler & comes brushed.! 😉 😉 😁😁 Cheers mate, another fantastic video.!! I'd like to tell you something about myself just now... I'm disabled & I suffer from pretty bad PTSD, anxiety disorder & depression, because of that I often struggle to do things for fun... My illness dominates my mind, I get wrapped up in negativity & from where my head is often at, it's hard to imagine going out, enjoying myself & having fun.!! The distance from feeling depressed & negative to feeling care free & positive often seems unimaginably huge without any way of even getting there.!!! This is where people like yourself provide a valuable service to people like me... A service that you probably have no idea that you're providing.! Watching positive & fun videos like yours can sometimes be what it takes to get me feeling better about myself to the point of putting my boots on, grabbing an RC or two or three 😉 & going outside.!! I see YOU bashing an RC, I look across the room at MY RCs & I'm able to imagine myself doing the same thing & that distance often doesn't seem so huge.!! Sometimes I'll come back in after only a short time because I just couldn't find my Mojo, but that's okay because I can still tell myself that "At least I tried" & I feel just that little bit better about myself.!! That in & of itself is an achievement.!! But other times I'll go out after feeling terrible & have an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME TIME.!!! 👍 👍 👍😁😁😁 For that my friend.. When I had a ec5 connectors I could never get them clicked in. I’ve been using xt90 anti spark on everything for years but with so many brands using ec5/ic5 I keep entertaining a switch. I just hate the sparking. All my esc connectors look brand new because of the anti spark tech, and you’re supposed to replace esc connectors about every 500 cycles with sparking connectors.
@DoRC3 ай бұрын
Yeah I normally use anti-Spark XT90s and QS8s but the ESC I put in already had an EC5 on it which is the sole reason why I ended up using an EC5 on the battery:)
@TheflyingkiwiRC3 ай бұрын
Use an IC5 connector instead. Super easy to solder, no clicking on required 😂
@dylanwhite65393 ай бұрын
@@TheflyingkiwiRC yea I’m not doing that. One pair of IC5 is the same cost as FIVE PAIRS of xt90 anti spark or ten pairs of sparking type. Horizon can suck my dick for that. If anything. I’d get a few SC5s to start. I guess IC5 isn’t bad if you but a bulk pack but I’d be pissed the day I was one connector short and had to spend $60 to not get price gouged. Also, with the few times I’ve used IC5, I’ve melted the connector in half of them, so I think the plastic they use is shit. I’ve never melted a amass connector

@@Killerbe423 Not necessarily. They need to be the right length and have the correct mounting system. The ones I used weren't actually quite the right length and they didn't quite have the right mounting system. They are just what I happen to have on hand so they're what I made work. I believe there are some other videos out from other channels that show what they use to upgrade. You might have better luck with those options.
