I recently this morning saw his video on the Arrma "I Made The World's Most Powerful Upgraded Typhon Grom & It's INSANE!" video, and it impressed me signiffigantly. Reason why is because I desire a quality RC of such a small stature 1/18 that can have enough power, speed and endurance such as that one. Very impressive content alltogether from this man. o7

probably one of my favorite channels due to the lengthy teardowns! As a handy guy i always want to see things come apart. Sometimes a product's limits are very obvious, sometimes it takes a teardown or some testing. I really like the Kagama, and this looks like another well designed product! The low pressure during shipping (airfreight?) + diffs leaking also crossed my mind! Could be a valid explanation!
@DoRC9 ай бұрын
Yeah it's either that or maybe they're just spilling some when they put them together. I'm not really sure. I do know that I've never had one leak when I was using it and you would think if they were going to leak just sitting around they'd certainly leak under high centrifugal force.
@insanebmxthomas9 ай бұрын
@@DoRC prolonged higher temps like on a container ship might do it too? And since this is all mass production... On my bike, if i assemble something, it always settles in during the first ride. Comes loose once, after assembly. Tighten it again, stays tight forever. Now imagine these center diffs being assembled, slapped into a car, which is then quickly tested on the assembly line. But then again, why don't the F/R diffs leak? We don't check, i guess? 😆

From the specs the Kuron 725 is a 2150kv motor; using 4s of 16.8v x 2150kv is aprox 36,000 rpm. No wonder the speed is slow for a 4s vehicle. I think it needs a 3000kv motor so it gets about 50k rpm max. I forgot, or increase the pinion size.

This is a very good buggy I really enjoy mine, however, the esc fan gets obstructed easily so you have to keep an eye on that. Also the non serrated wheel nuts are a real pain as they fall off all the time without some loctite. I just replaced them with serrated though so it’s fine. It’s quite fast straight out the box as well to be fair. Only thing I have broken so far is rubber body clip retainer on the front and it’s had some real abuse haha. Also worth noting is that this is only splash proof so it’s best to keep it away from any water really. I rate it highly and it’s real easy to drive fast.

Remember, the first Efra race of this year there was a Team Corally at the start and no one expected that. Allthough the result wasnt that good it was oke for a first test. As you look at all the tuning options its definately a much better racer as the Arrma Typhon. I bet we see a new kit in the near future to replace the sbx410 as well

At first I thought you were asking if there was a way to make the price higher. That was very confusing. The car is exceptionally fast and such a pleasure to drive. My local hobby shops do not care distribute cars aside from mostly Traxxas and Arrma. When u mentioned the making ones own replacement parts, I myself have thought this too. @@DoRC I genuinley do. What discouraged me was speaking to the 2 gentlemen at the "micro Center" about 3D printers is after I asked. "May I simply place a part I wish to clone/recreat 3D style so that it can therby learn how the shape is etc to then recreate and print?" They were like..."not that way. It is usually inacurate and unless you have a CAD file with all details u wont likely create the exact shape" paraphrasing. So I shook my head and left empty handed. I never have done it, but if I could copy 3D shapes. I could get busy making parts for myself and others. @DoRC9 ай бұрын
@@dub2536 what they said is technically true. Unless you have really high-end equipment 3D scanning isn't really going to get you a perfectly repeatable part. It's more of a starting point for you to then design the part around. This is because there's always going to be small detail inaccuracies that of course the 3D printer will replicate perfectly so what you end up with won't exactly be the part you started out with.

The problem remains the same for alot of the brands that make great products. That problem is market domination. If I break my ARRMA, I go today Hobbytown and they have the parts, If I break a 15 year old Traxxas I go to Hobbytown and buy the parts. If I break my RLAARLO, which is an awesome car..I wait two weeks for parts. If I break a Corrally...I may or may not ever be able to find the parts. In many cases the big brands are inferior cars in many ways, where they are superior is support. My running cars are ALWAYS better than my cars I cannot run as I wait for parts. All the better things on this car compared to the ARRMA can be purchased as upgrades on the AARMA, once again because support from not only ARRMA but the 3,000 aftermarket companies that also make parts. I know 3d printing changes that a bit, but that is another hobby all on its own, and I for one do not have the space or the expendable income to invest in that AND RC, I could buy more cars and gear instead. I don't know anyone into the hobby that has a completely stock RTR a year after ownership, so what matters is the platform which is a canvas for the things you will change later anyway. You can make the ARRMA typhon bulletproof by upgrading the things you mentioned...you know what you are getting but you also know how easy it is to change those shortfalls with aftermarket parts. I have a great example. My carbon edition RLAARLO 14th scale buggy absolutely smashed the Typhon Grom out of the box in so many ways....that being said, I can make my Typhon Grom smash my RLAARLO in every way with some mods and aftermarket support..My RLAARLO will always be pretty much what it is out of the box.

This is how you do an economy entry level 1/8 scale basher buggy. Arrma Typhon 3S is just a 1/10 Short Course that is shaped like a 1/8 buggy...not legit...though it is a god buy at the aggressive sale price that comes around once a year or so. Only thing is I'm starting to notice about Team Corally is they change up their designs every cycle, which is great for improving the product, but it seems like it obsoletes their prior models too quickly. Great if you enjoy buying the latest and greatest, not so much if you only want to maintaina small RC roster that you can run for many years.

Not really sure I understand this. All of their 6s/4s vehicles are based on the same platform and share most of the same parts. They do updates pretty frequently which I think is a great thing but it's not really obsoleting older models and you can still get parts for the older models

@@DoRC Some of the confusion is they keep rebranding each iteration of the buggy (as with their other RCs)...Python, Radix, Spark, Synchro. It is hard to track what is what. Where Python and Radix seem very similar (I guess Radix is the improved version?), looks like the Spark got some significant changes. A couple years from now how hard is it going to be to locate parts for a Radix compared to say any version of a Typhon 6S? Heck, I know it was hit or miss for a few years but now that HPI is back in business I can still keep my OG Vorza buggy running with new production parts (not just new-old-stock), and even the old Savage Flux HP (I just installed the new Savage X stub axles on it last weekend with properly implemented 17mm hex hubs!)
