This tends to happen once every couple of years. I was born in Dordrecht, and my family have photos from pretty much each year when the levels of the water were exceptionally high or exceptionally low. I remember that in 2019 the summer drought was so bad that nobody could or was allowed to sail around the canals due to the low water level. A few years before that, the water flowed over the canal banks, onto the streets. The water reached to the Grote Kerk (the main church) back then. Sometimes I’m surprised that the city is still there, giving how old it is and how frequent the floods are (and how even more frequent they used to be).

@@jonathansantingg.77 No prob, I like to learn about the city’s history and how we plan on protecting ourselves in the future, and telling interested people about it. Back when Dordrecht was young, in the 11th and 12th century, the citizens artificially raised the grounds on which they’d build their houses up to a few metres using different kinds of materials mixed with soil. They took the frequent flooding for granted, because the location also brought the city a lot of wealth when it started participating in regional trade and demanding toll from passing ships. Recently I believe the township looked into whether or not we could have the ground raised again, but it turned out to be impossible due to the massive amount of old architecture and monuments Dordrecht has. So as a result they’re looking into different ways to protect the city.

u need muna nang accomodation dito at ung visa must be 4 months up para iparegistered mo ang address mo dito sa cityhall kung saan ka naka tira para ma bigyan ka nang BSN # at ung bsn # un ung magiging work permit na natin at sa pag ope account nang bank sa tax and etc🫰❤️
