Dorian was the most intelligent bodybuilder. He knew he didn’t have the physique of flex, the lines and symmetry of Ray, or even the wow factor of levrones delts BUT he got as big as possible and combined that with razor sharp conditioning. Yates dedication to his craft is what separated him from his more gifted competitors.

I can't imagine the intensity every workout. Year in and year out. After a week of training like that most would say no more and he did it for years.

Until he broke down as Ronnie Coleman did. Even Dorian today reveals that it didn't make a whole lot of sense to train to the max on restricted calorie intake. A true recipe for disaster. I wonder if anybody has learned you can't go heavy all the time yet?
@Slendermandeath0714 жыл бұрын
Dj_M1 actuslly Dorian did train like a power lifter. He’s partner at the time stated he had a powerlifting training program, so yes he would go all the way. He would typically train once a week the body part he would train.

hehe 1. Training with moderate weight like shawn does yields very little results for most natties. Unless you have very good genetics, progressive overload over time toward significantly heavy weight is a must if you want to achieve your full natural potential. 2. It has been established that steroid use tends to make muscles disproportionately stronger than tendons since anabolics contribute almost nothing toward tendon recovery, and many bodybuilders have injured themselves for this reason.

Don't say this is just for guys on gear. I'm not a bodybuilder and I don't look like one either, but when I started using these high intensity principles 8 months ago, after lifting for a year as a rookie "volume guy", I really started growing muscle. At 45 I'll never be a Dorian Yates even if I walked around with an i-v bag drip of Dbol and Tren. So I'm not trying to be. But I'm thrilled and thankful for guys like this who put in the work, gear or not, and show us how it's done.
