Back in the early 90s a good friend of mine here in town was getting ready for the NPC nationals. He ended up taking fifth in the light heavyweight class which I think is phenomenal especially given the competition. Anyway, shortly before the contest I was talking to him as he was riding the stationary bike and I can remember seeing the striations in his jaw as he was speaking to me and I thought damn he’s ready.
