I can't give Dorian the Rear Lat Spread over Ronnie in this comparison. Only part that is debatable in my opinion all other poses were good takes.

ya Ronnie wins it's pretty convincingly. Rounder muscle, even thicker traps, much better lower body. Literally wins everywhere except dryness, but his fullness more than makes up for it.

Problem with this video, is it’s comparing peak ronnie to a finished Dorian. It would be a much better comparison comparing 98 peak ronnie with 93-95 peak Dorian. 93-95 Dorian beats ronnie all day

@TheLusianPopa bodybuilding is all about posing, and ronnie's legs look twice the size of dorian's legs from the back. Dorian poses his legs like toothpicks from the back and ronnie looks way better balanced

You have to undrestand camera lensing, angle, and lighting makes a big difference. I think the verdict was influenced by the certainty that Dorian Did have wider lats in real life. In some of the clips here even his head looks significantly smaller than Ronnies, so the footage itself is worse.

@@M1tjakaramazov nah, go watch them on stage back in 1997 in Russia. The camera shows them both and Ronnie was already bigger than Yates in the back, in 1997. His back is just better, better shape, better thickness. The only area they are close is width. Ronnie was just criminally underrated for a couple years

@@paulcox2447 " nah, go watch them on stage back in 1997 in Russia" Dorian was never in Russia and Coleman was just as big in 98 as he was in 97, just leaned out...and with gyno Here's some facts for you: only 247 pounds still not as conditioned, bad gyno that hurt him, barely beat an oiled up (khm syntholed up) soft Flex Wheeler by 3 mere points. That's as close as it gets Dorian: 260+ pounds, more conditioned, no gyno. Kevin Levrone competed against both and said that Yates would beat Coleman in '98 had he competed. Now explain to me in what universe Dorian competed in Russia and in what universe do 247 pounds of muscle look bigger than 260+ pounds of muscle...at the same height? you can keep coping all you want

Dorian would've been 15 times better than he was in 97 in 1998 if he had returned because the guy was so motivated, he would've came back probably in the best shape of his life to make up for 97 and he would've crushed Ronnie so even Kevin or Rooney and flex wheeler both said that if Dorian returns in 9899 Ronnie never wins

I dislike the concession you made in the RDB, the bicep development is literally in the name, coupled with the lower body makes this an easy W. Their backs are close (Dorian has superior calves no doubt) but everything else in this pose belongs to Ronnie. Overall an amazing video SSMan. You're new and unique approach to revisted content is so refreshing and provides a new perspective on things as a whole. Indeed a massive service to the bodybuilding community 💪

Yes, Dorian misses the muscle separation in the back. You can clearly see Ronnie's teres maior. In addition Ronnie is overall more simmetrical.

@@sonyx4500how? Ronnie has better glute ham, Dorian better calves. So slight advantage for Ronnie in lower body. Dorian spreads the lats wider, hits the pose better and tthe bachk is harder. Ronnie's back is a bit meatier and fuller. Slight advantage for Dorian. Back is more important than lower body so it's a slight win for Dorian or a tie. No way Ronnie wins

I agree. Based solely on just the video, Ronnie’s back is just as wide but appears thicker and more 3D. With both have similar hardness in the backs. Moving to the lower body, Dorian has the better hamstrings while Ronnie’s glutes are more shredded and massive. But closing the door on overall size of the lower body and legs. I would have to give a 1 point win for Ronnie for better overall completeness

I wouldn't have given Dorian the RLS I would of given it to Ronnie, he was better balanced in the pose and has a far bigger and thicker back. I only have Dorian winning the FLS, ST and the Abs & thighs

" yes, a man known for his width at 260+ pounds is FAR SMALLER than a 247 pound bodybuilder, that makes sense Tell me why Jay Cutler says that "there was nothing like it" when he met Dorian and saw his back width? Tell me why Jay Cutler, who competed against the widest and biggest versions of Ronnie, stood next to him in 2 man call outs, still says that Dorian was wider and had the better back lat spread? Can't wait for that reply

Ronnie was better in later years than in 1998. I guess the smallest version of Ronnie is the only way to keep it close. If you go past 2000 Ronnie literally changed the game.

The only problem with the scoring is that if they tie on points the one who wins more poses must have the larger discrepancy in their worst pose, so they are less symmetrical and balanced. With the same points, the one who wins fewer poses actually is more balanced since their worse poses will be relatively better.

Ronnie even in his under 250 lbs weight looks bigger and more muscular than Dorian 250+ lbs, Dorian's front double biceps pose is as funny as a penguin in cartoon both biceps look complete sh**. Ronnie got more details in his side chest, front double biceps and back double biceps pose

Nicely done, I agree. Ronnie, and others, perform the Front Lat like a Most Muscular variation. Dorian opens and lifts up his rib-cage, while leaning back slightly thus show casing his Lats the right way. Ronnie’s way shows off other muscle groups instead of his Lats. Dorian’s Front Lat Spread shows superior execution and overall development/balance: Calves to thighs to waist to Lats to chest to shoulders to arms. Thank you.🤙

@TheLusianPopa I agree with most of what your friend says, esp about Dorian's legs in 93. He had quad tears in 94 offseason and they never looked that good again. Although I'm not sure how he could say that 03's legs were watery, especially in prejudging (red trunks) . Not as striated or separated as 98 of course but they still were very hard and dense. 00 and 03 both won with perfect scores sure but 03 was the more imposing and dominating physique by FAR. At least that was the perception at the time.

you don't get it because you're a biased conformist: Coleman 1998: 247 pounds at the same height as Dorian, still not as conditioned, bad gyno, barely beat a soft Flex Wheeler by 3 points Yates: 260+ pounds, more conditioned, no gyno, wider. front lat, side tricep, abs and thighs = Yates rather convincingly. Kevin Levrone said on RX muscle that Dorian beats Coleman in '98 had he competed. You want to challenge his word? Sure he's just one man with his opinion, and yet he competed against both, since Dorian's 1st Olympia win all the way to 2003 Ronnie.

This shows the superiority of Dorian. What is the point of all that size and you blow out your midsection and you come in Synthol Soft and Big vs Grainy Hard and Ripped to The Bone. This smooth size protocol ☢️💉 should not allow guys like Derek to win mr Olympia. It should seriously be removed from the sport. Look at Flex Wheeler loosing a kidney and leg because of it. I agree, also Dorian would have the champions privilege in 98, making a tie shift in his favor anyway, A comparassion of Jay cuter (2009) and Derek from this year would be interesting in this model Specially because hat could take the front and side poses (+ abs and thighs) but still lose in points depending of how it goes

Nasser was massive, if his back (counting lower body) wasnt so lacking in detail and didnt use as much oil (his biceps were way too round and looked like they were going to explode) he could be a 2 times champion (i dont think he would be able to keep going with Ron and flex in 99) @TheLusianPopa

Very good video. Only thing I disagree with was the ab and thigh. It’s not even close, Dorian was running away with that pose.

@@musclebone7875 Him and Phil are close. Same number of Olympias and even in terms of on stage, it's hard to say who would win all things equal. Phil is a slightly more complete version of Kevin and Flex hybrid. His only issue is he is shorter and more narrow than both of them too. Dorians height and width advantage already gave him a big advantage over Flex and Kevin. Phil being complete wouldn't matter so much since he loses even more on size it kinda balances out. . If Phil was as wide and Flex and Kevin it'd be a clear cut case, but he isn't. People don't see it so much in pics, especially not by itself so it's being lost to time, but the 90's guys were big. They were tall and had large frames. Dorian had tougher competition. Phil occurred more recently.

Dorian Yates was Mr.Olympia for six straight years for a reason. He was the greatest bodybuilder in the world at that time. But he would not have beaten Ronnie during his prime years.

It would not be fair to consider the MM- had it been a mandatory pose, no question Yates would have modified his training/posing to ensure he was more competitive in it. It’s like asking who had the better javelin pose or vacuum shot. You can’t expect a competitor to excel in something that’s irrelevant to the competition.

I’ve probably already commented but the back double here - it has to be a 3 point win for Ronnie. I’m honestly failing to see a body part on that pose that Dorian wins 🤷‍♂️ and the back lat spread? I’m not giving Ronnie a 3 point win - but he is absolutely winning that pose here (again in my opinion)

Ronnie all the way in every category except for posing. Dorian poses better making his body parts appear better than Coleman's in some poses. But clearly Ronnie is better overall.

Idk why people speak so highly of Ronnie, that gyno id have him last place, Dorien after the torn bicep i'd have as last place, other years Ronnie had a bubble gut and no calves. Paul Dillet and Ruhl and Lou Ferigno are the guys that should of been Mr O if your going by size. Arnold over Lou is ridiculous, Lou could of picked Arnold up like he was a child and threw him through a window, dude was way bigger and built for real. Arnold was pumped up beach muscles, no glutes or legs out of proportion.

Ronnie is the best of all time, but you're using a bad version of Dorian when a 92, 93, or 95 version of Dorian would've been better. In 1996 he was pretty much done.
