@@holarc It would've open her a complete new career, but I guess it was too far away from her image. It's a pity. Imagine, Miss Day would've been Mrs. Robinson! It could've been a milestone in movie's history! If there is a mistake in my English, please forgive, it's not my first language.
@holarc5 жыл бұрын
@@markuskozlik5242 thank u. that's exactly right. she was unfortunately a bit inhibited i believe, and probably allowed more conservative (and puritanical), family, friends and other 'voices' to influence her. i read that a close friend of hers said that she had actually been a very sensual person in private life, and had numerous affairs and lovers. that's of course not quite like the nasty domineering character of 'mrs. robinson', but a bit closer anyway. i loved her freshness in her early film 'calamity jane', and in the first half of it her androgynous/masculine qualities! have u seen it?

He would’ve definitely taken her career in a different direction and we all know that she could’ve handled the role with no problem she just felt that it was not the image that her fans had come to expect of her. Later she was offered the Lansbury roll on Murder She Wrote, And then even later a recurring role on Dynasty which she would’ve been ..awesome for. Apparently she was always receiving Scripps right up until the time that she got too sick. In her later years she spoke about the possibility of doing a film with Clint Eastwood that he had written and wanted her for
