This was really well put together. As you said, Southend had grandads (me) sons (mine), and grandsons (my two) supporting them. You deserve to do well (I see you are on a great run of form at the moment). I suspect we will be playing each other again in the league next year after you go up as champions. It was great for me (going to Roots Hall since 1966) to have clear views of me and my boys reacting to the game. Thank you for a really entertaining 45 minutes.

I went to the JPT final 2013 and the Southend fans were amazing for their club. They conceded in the sixth minute which coincided with a minutes applause for a Crewe player who had a baby die during the week and they all stood and applauded. Afterwards drinking around the ground they were spot on even after losing a cup final. Wouldn’t quite say a happy atmosphere but pretty close. It is stunning to see what is going on at Southend. Absolutely bonkers.

Just been sent this .. i watched (as a Southend fan) accepting it'd have a Dorking slant but that doesn't make it any less interesting. The manager came across extremely well, a little cocky maybe but with a side as good as his he has every right to be, the voiceover guy however sounded like a bit of a wanker, yes we're shit (less shit now than back when the game was played i might add) but they're MY shit and i'll defend them to the hilt TYVM, he was just a little bit condescending towards a side that had (till April sob) 100 years of football league history behind us, yes we're struggling but you'll never take our history from us (100% record v Man Utd and Aston Villa anyone ??) .. the manager showed that respect, shame the producer couldn't. More could've been made of Matt Dennis' wonder winner, and indeed it should've cos it took a goal of that quality, plus the heroics of Colin Ndi in goal to see us through. I have no doubt whatsoever i'll be going to Dorking for a league match next season, back in December it looked like that'd be a NLS game now its pretty obvious it'll be a NLP game so fair play to DWFC for their continued progression.... ps i doubt we could afford Rutherford but if he fancies a stint on the Essex Riviera he'd be welcome with open arms !!!
