Loved the genuine conversations on shows and movies, a Disney beat down is always a good time.

I don’t participate in beetlejuice polls. Great show though. Always great seeing Big Nerdy. And I’m gonna take Larry’s advice on that Creami.

I got the George Gaspar skeletons, and a set of the Pumpkin spice OMFGs series 2. McCTXToys is a smaller Glyos creator, but he's got some nice stuff still in stock, and I try to pick them up when I can.

My guess is Figuarts will unveil the Older (newer) first to go along with the movie, but then very closely after will drop the Younger (older) version.

Good show, thanks! Young Beetlejuice would be my pick

I’m think new Beetlejuice but including an old beetle juice faceplate
@FuriousFigures9 күн бұрын
Old Beetlejuice first because they know the young one will def sell so they will release the old one first because then people will buy it and will buy the young one when they release it. If they do the young one first then there will be people who just buy that.

I'm hoping young Beetlejuice, but I feel like it's old Beetlejuice for the new movie.

I lived through the Star Wars SE backlash and the PT backlash so all the "STar Wars is dead" stuff feels really hollow honestly. Lucas literally cited impossible to please fans when he quit and sold Lucasfilm. Disney SW will be universally hated until the fans that grew up with it come to dominate the online discourse in exactly the same way the PT has been "redeemed".

Revenge of the Sith was always the third best Star Wars movie and I don't care what anyone says.
@DorkLair9 күн бұрын
Totally, time tends to soften the reaction too. I know a lot of people who hated the PT at the time and eventually grew to love it. Clone Wars helped a lot with that I think.

Couldn’t agree more. For those with memories, the vitriol for the prequels much worse, just didn’t have social media of these levels at the time. From the prequels who can remember such lovely comments about Lucas such as “Lucas raped my childhood”. Spot on too many Star Wars fans are hard to please. In the case of the OT characters for the sequels it was 30+ years of expectations of alternative stories. Read those Zahn books as a teenager and loved them, re-read them recently and didn’t love them as much. Ultimately to have had sequels somewhat like those books GL had to have made the ST instead of the PT or recast.

"When you get impaled by a lightsaber YOU DIE! Unless you're a girl in Ahsoka" ... Darth Maul got cut the f in half and fell from cruising altitude. He got better. The anti-woke crap is so tired and disingenuous.

Bill here. I think one of the problems with the anti-woke arguments is that it's very picky choosy, it was tough to cut into Larry's rant at the time, but basically he (and general anti-woke talking points people like to share) will say that it's possible to have progressive ideas with good writing and cite a well-received show like Fire and Blood, but when they reference the problems with a show they deem bad, they say that it is the inclusion of progressive ideas that is the cause the poor quality. So in one case the quality is regardless of the "wokeness" and in the other case the quality (or lack thereof) is because of the "wokeness." It's logically unsound, and comes off as projection.

That was my thought when I heard that as well. I stopped the video after that.

Yikes. Didn't think I would hear DEI rhetoric being spouted on a toy show. Didn't finish the stream. Two strikes on one episode and I had to leave. Do appreciate Bill trying to wrangle the off the wall conversation, but it wasn't enough.
@DorkLair7 күн бұрын
Totally understand. I disagree with Larry's take. I think it's a standard anti-woke playbook move to claim that a show like House of the Dragon (which has progressive ideas) is good because of the writing, but a show that like Acolyte (which has progressive ideas) is bad BECAUSE of the progressive ideas. It just makes no logical sense, it's two different standards of comparison. For me the issue is that I have a hard time suddenly inserting moderation into what is otherwise a free-flowing conversation. And with two large personalities like Larry and Matt, it's tough to get a timely word in sometimes, I'm just not an aggressive type like that. But I totally understand any audience member who decides to abandon the show when they stop liking it, a perfectly reasonable response. Overall, in my opinion Larry means well and is a great person, but sometimes he (again my opinion here) gets caught up in the identity politics of the anti-woke rhetoric. But I'm also not going to silence him. I just need to do a better job of challenging those opinions in the moment sometimes.

@@CMCustom112 Good, in that case hopefully you'll take my advice and look to all other awesome conversations and opinions, and not judge the entire show based on one single rant by the co-host.
