Lol so true! What's even more interesting & funny. Is that Caroline & Lexi, are pretty much exactly how Elena is in the novels. More so Caroline but Stefan outright said that Caroline & Lexi are similar. Novel Elena was a slightly self centred, blue eyed blonde, who stefan initially rejects, falls for, and ends up becoming a warmer, sweeter and better person because she falls for Stefan. The excuse the writers gave for completely re-writing & misportraying Elena was no one would like her & wouldnt watch the show. When Caroline & Lexi are probably the most beloved and overall best female characters in the show. If only people would learn to properly adapt things.

I have no clue why it's the most popular ship in the show, people are into toxicity, it's just sad. I gotta say tho, Stelena did feel like a high school love story and as much as i love Steroline and how great they are together in any way, i still think that Nina and Paul had the best chemistry in the show and their romantic moments warmed my heart, but mostly in season 1. Bit by bit their relationship became such a mess. I don't judge people who like Stelena, Samara or even Stetherine, but i prefer Steroline and i really still don't understand why people say that with Elena Stefan seems happier, he's happier when Caroline around.

They were ready to do anything for each other, Stefan even sold his soul for her children.
