Id get a 4 draw storage towers. 1 draw for food, 1 for cleaning supplies, 1 for all your cups/plates/bowls/cutlery, 1 for something else. Gets it all tidied away and organised but still easy to get at things each day.

You definitely don't need a mattress topper or pad... My dorm bed my freshman year was totally fine and was actually comfortable without wasting money on the extra mattress stuff. Also, get ACTUAL dishes because spending so much extra money on plastic silverware is stupid.
