Otto Stierlitz Not everyone speaks or understands the German language. As this is an international web-site English seems a smarter choice. Nicht Jeder spricht oder versteht Deutsch. Und Deutsch ist die einzige Sprache die eine Landung auf Wasser als "Wasserung" benennt. In anderen Sprachen würde gerade das als lächerlich erscheinen…

When talking about float planes, a "water landing" and "ground landing" are perfectly normal English expressions to differentiate the surface upon which the landing is performed. Be careful before you criticize others - who ends up looking like the fool? Greetings from Canada.
