It's a BBC dramatisation of the novel. So, yes, abridged. But yes, there are various horrible pieces of cack handed editing . Quite a bit of the audio track is missing.

Wouldn’t it be great if the world were like this? Full of honorable people and justice? And fine clarets? 🤭 BTW…there is a whole chunk of the story missing…..during which time LPW gets shot
