Amen, you certainly said that right, Barry!!! My sweet late mother took my 2 sisters and I to see them in person back in the late 1950's, and Dorothy and her singers had that church rocking with the GLORY hand MAJESTY of Jesus Christ!!! Truly this lady and her group were anointed!!! I was so very young, but I remember in particular the song they sang which was, "I've Got Jesus, and That's Enough!" Hey, glory!!!

My favorite gospel recording of ALL time. I once found Miss Coates home phone number on one of her albums back in like 1988 and called her to ask where I could get this record and she said "Baby you might want to try the record label" been looking for it ever since. If only they had a video!!

My God!!!! This vessel was truly ANOINTED!! She will slay me every time! What a blessing! I used to listen to this group as a new convert at age 18. I'm 59 now and she still slays me!!! Tony, you are a blessing to the body of Christ! I am addicted to Dorothy's voice! And the musicians were just as anointed. Sure wish I had your collection of DLC & TOGH. Man, this is priceless!!! what a great all time LEGENDARY VESSELS OF GOD, Dorothy Love-Coates and the Harmonettes. Evelyn Starks-Hardy could glide across that ivory like no other and you just hear those keys on the piano just saying the words. Mildred, Vera, Willie Mae, and Odessa what great leads and back up singers. These ladies had great harmony and could sing heaven doors right on down. Ladies rest in peace, a chapter completed, but will never be forgotten. A page will turned, a beautiful life of singing gospel music welled lived, and a rest welled earned.

Bryan Jackson no she only sang two songs one side was her and the flip was the B,C, & M Choir

Does anybody know what the AVI label is? I have records by her on Specialty, Nashboro, and Savoy - but I'm not familiar with "AVI".

AVI Records agreed to acquire Nashboro Records in 1979. As a result, AVI made a concerted effort to expand their gospel efforts by releasing new material as well as reissuing classic Nashboro recordings

It’s an Alabama label. I have a male Black gospel group on the label. It’s packed down now. I used to sell vinyl records on eBay. When I take it up again, I will upload it.
