DOS Game: Zool

Damn this brings back memories. Prince of persia, Prince of persia 2, sky roads, dangerous dave, biomenace, doom. Look these up. These are other good DOS games that I used to play back in the 2000s

YES! I FOUND IT! I was talking to my mom a while ago, talking about a game we used to play on an old pc, which had Chupa Chups ads everywhere. But we couldn't remember the name of the game. Just now I was watching an AVGN video on Atari Jaguar, and I found him making a review of Zool 2, and I thought "hey, those eyes, they're awfully familiar". I didn't hesitate to look for "Zool game" on KZbin, enter the first video, and instantly see that the game was sponsored by Chupa Chups. I was never able to play the game properly before, everytime we tried to play it the PC would freeze, and had to get it to repair (or so my mum says) I gotta play it sometime now with Dosbox. Doesn't seem to last very long

​@@FALG31 Yup. It's based on the Sega Genesis version of the game, and they overhauled some of the mechanics, mainly allowing for much greater momentum and the ability to gain greater speed via ground-stomping. It's exceptionally fun

Secret level locations: Area 2.1 - Go straight from the very start until y'reach an Invulnerability powerup, a small isle of points, and a seemingly empty ledge at the opposite wall. To enter the secret level, drop to the left onto a lower ledge, and jump right under the rim of the empty upper ledge. You MUST access this secret level first, not the second, otherwise the entry point won't work anymore. Eeeny-weeny-little bug. Area 2.1 - Play the "Close encounters of the Third Kind" theme on the piano: gray, white, black, dark red, green. It's difficult, but possible. Y'll be instantly teleported to the secret level. Note that entering this secret level prevents access to the first one. Area 4.1 - Right at the start, y'll see a wooden structure made of bright and dark wood. Climb its top, and make a big jump from there towards the left. Area 5.1 - The first small hill of the toyshelf, this is where y'see the paper plane enemies the very first time. Make a jump towards the right from the right side of this small hill.

Every one is talking about playing this on pc, this is from before pc, this was for amiga 500 or commodore... I played this for hundreds of hours on my amiga/commodore cdtv back in the mid 90's

I played this as a toddler. I remember thinking it sucked because it was made in association with chupa chups.....candy makers shouldn't make video games, I thought, as a 3 year old corporation hating anarchist. Maybe I just wished it was sonic.

Oh there was even a DOS version? Amazing. Nice version of the Rave track, very General Midi sounding :) Gotta love the Zool soundtrack!! By the way, I've remixed the Rave track and just upped it, but it's based on the Amiga version :) Thanks for listening to it, have fun and enjoy!

This game was released in 1992 and there are no re-makes. So no, there's no Android version. But there are Amiga, SNES and even Game Boy versions. The DOS version is best played on PC and DOSBox for PC is free. But if you must play the DOS version on Android, then Magic DOSBox is probably the best DOSBox port.
