For more classic Butters, I recommend Marjorine, Sarcastaball, The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs, Poor and Stupid, Cartman Sucks, You Got F'd in the A!, Freak Strike, Last of the Meheecans, The Ungroundable, Grounded Vindaloop and Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub (the often overlooked introduction to the Butters we know today; before that, he was mostly just a kid in the background of the classroom and poor Pip, RIP, was still the class punching bag and even got his own episode). The moment Butters talks to Awesome-O! about when Eric gets him in trouble by impersonating him on the phone with Butters' dad is a reference to a gag in the episode, "Jared Has Aides."

I love this episode lol. Cartman will basically never change, only getting a little worse over time if anything, while Butters is just so innocent by nature. Which this episode provides some good examples of. Stan and Kyle are often learning their lessons, or trying to find some kind of moral in the story. Especially in the beginning and really early seasons, when Kyle or Stan would sometimes literally be like, "y'know, I learned something today..." It's kinda funny because Randy is a relatively normal adult citizen of the town in the early seasons (for them at least..), working as a geologist, but at some point Randy goes completely off the rails 😂

The boys are the main characters but Butters and Randy became a favorite staple of creator so they have a lot more episodes. Jimmy and Timmy along with Tweak and Craig have gotten some love along the way but they are not usually part of main show. Wendy and Token also have some episodes though usually as the straight man of joke or antagonist of Cartman.
