To create a brand new image, you need to show real progress. Yes this is nice, but a few nice roads and some high rises are not real progress. The ground realities in 99% of Indian cities is still 50yrs behind most major economies. We have 80+ cities in list of 100 most polluted cities in the world, thats pathetic. We need 1000s of more projects like this in each city along with proper rules, real urban planning and people to actually follow the rules. And it is possible in India, just look no further than Indore and what they have done to build a clean city in just a handful of years. That is more impressive than any of these mega projects.

You can’t. India is dirty because majority of the people are dirty, uncouth and uncivilised. This reflects in the cities and streets. Creating a “brand” needs work at ground level. Without substance no brand can sustain. Poverty is no excuse for being a pile of filth. I have been to countries much much poorer than India but the levels of cleanliness is way better than India. Moreover Indians are loud. The more civilized a country is, the quieter it is.
