​@@shirkedanceEarlier the time taken by road from Andheri to Ghatkopar was 2hours+ and if you travelled by rickshaw, you would end up paying Rs.200-250.00 or more(in the year 2008-2009) Today it takes less than 26 minutes from Versova (1st station) to Ghatkopar (12th/last station) with Andheri being the 4th station on that line. In less than Rs.40.00...per passenger. I know so many car owners who have started taking the metro to avoid fatigue and traffic.

Develop Nagpur, Pune and shambaji nagar as new economic Hubs and decongest Mumbai city and connect them with Expressways and vande Bharat express. Similarly developed all Tire2 cities Vijayawada, Mysore, Trichy, Hubli, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Raipur etc which have an exciting operational airport in every state.

Mumbai or MMR is being developed and funded by MMRDA unlike Delhi/NCR which relies on central funding. Other cities can follow the suit. Nobody is stopping them. MMR's development doesn't put a toll on state or center much, so all of you should be happy and supporting Mumbai's growth which is and will be India's most cosmopolitan and premier city..

Yes I do live in mumbai and it was a very nice presentation about my city ....I personally think that if all metro line and two underpass highway gets completed one from thane to borivali and second from mulund to goregaon then there will be a big release from traffic and finalli when virar will be connected via nasik highway badlapur highway ending on Jnpt and pune express way then the big trucks and excel heavy vehicals can be moved from this route compulsory so the heavy vehicles will enter mumbai from various connection point that will be a master stroke for Indian government

For almost a decade, my area had a traffic congestion problem. With a new metro line and two flyovers built in speed, the traffic problem has been completely resolved. Thanks to all the governments involved and mostly to Gadkari and Modi.

Any large govt project takes approximately 7 to 12 years to complete from the time actual work starts. But publicity starts well in advance even before design and drawing are ready. And by the time project become operational it becomes out dated technologically and capacity becomes insufficient.

It's good, however 70% of Mumbai doesn't reside in Mumbai and it is in the outskirts. Till the time that is fixed, no matter how many land or projects you bring up it will never reduce the commute time for a commoner. India's Prime Minister's name is not Narendra Gandhi, but Narendra Modi. Due to its economic promise, there is always an exponential growth in population. So, Mumbai continues to cluster gigantic cement clusters. Huge infrastructure projects can to some extent mitigate it's problems. But a permanent solution of Mumbai's problem on congestion will be a rigorous effort to control population explosion. Side effects of infrastructure development is that, it does damage the environmental equilibrium.
