In this Ayurvedic Restorative Yoga Class to balance your doshas we will ground anxious vata dosha, calm fiery pitta dosha and even stimulate kapha dosha. Many of the restorative yoga postures are tridoshic, that is they are balancing for all doshas. In each of the poses I will explain how the restorative yoga postures are pacifying for each dosha. We will have some movement for kapha dosha between the long holds of the restorative poses. The long propped holds of restorative yoga are prefect for vata dosha because they allow vata dosha to slow down and release excess physical and mental energy such as anxiety. We will also focus on digestive issues such as gas, bloating and constipation that can be issues for vata dosha. Restorative yoga is also perfect for fiery pitta doshas because their competitive nature makes them incredibly driven. Restorative yoga allows them to take rest and self care seriously letting go of built up frustration and effort. While movement is the most important thing for kapha dosha, we will add in short moving sequences between the restorative postures for kapha doshas and focus on restorative poses that will open up their chests to release mucus accumulation.
