I have Fibromyalgia and neuropathy. Started LDN in July at .50. Had some relief at 1.0. Continued to increase .50 every 2 weeks. Pain increased. Dropped back down. No relief. Symptoms worse except good, deep sleep.

I had to stop using LDN because at 8 months I had a bad side effect of high anxiety, depression, etc. which also hyperstimulated my nervous system. Horrible!

What were the signs that the starting dose is too high?

Thyroid patients taking Levo or Synthroid MUST start at a low dose (1.5 mg) and gradually (every 2 weeks or so) increase to a so-called sweet-spot. Most settle around 3.5 mg, but many like myself went all the way up to 4.5 mgs and stay there. The reason for the slow increase is that sometimes, starting LDN can cause your own Thyroid to suddenly start producing more it it's own natural Thyroid Hormone, and thus require a sudden reduction to your daily intake of Levo or Synthroid. That is why Thyroid patients should start their LDN therapy with a competent doctor that can do periodic needed Hormone testing and help guide you with the needed periodic uptakes in LDN. Probably sounds a bit complicated but it is not really. In my view anyway. And it is worth it .....believe me. I have been on LDN now going on 12 years. To me, LDN is a near-miracle drug for all the benefits it can provide. Especially long term if you stay with it like I have been able to do. And I say LDN is a near-miracle drug because there really is NO such thing as a true, complete Miracle drug. But.......LDN comes pretty darn close in my opinion. Over the years, I have tried countless times to generate interest in LDN with the regular Medical Doctors I have interacted with as a patient. BUT.....once you tell them all LDN can do for only about $1 per day. They quickly lose interest. Unfortunately. The fact that LDN is very cheap and ALSO works so well is unfortunately a big turn-off for so many main stream doctors. What can you do --- we still live in a For-Profit Medical System. And LDN is definitely NOT a profitable medication.
