From my understanding the Roolcake is more a Valen's close combat option. Even the transformation dequence Gavv used shared more Valen's language.

This was a pretty intense episode, This was a great start to the Twins' last stand. The yule log form(Although, I don't blame you for calling it a "roll cake" instead of a yule log, because it kinda does look like a giant strawberry Swiss roll) is alright, although given that we're debuting the proper cake form next, it feels kind of redundant. And that cliffhanger is just intense. As for the B plot with Hanto; it was pretty all right. The moment where he was fighting with the monster in the fountain where it went slowmo, and it felt like a weird commercial felt a bit strange.(I feel like that's a reference to something.) And again with the Professor, I'm calling it now, he's going to be a villain later on! Either coluding with Stomach inc. or being his own independant faction. I don't expect him to suprisingly become the final boss, but again; I'm expecting a repeat of the whole Juuga incident from Revice.

I keep coming back to the idea that the guy who modified Valen is Nyelv using a different disguise. No reason properly, it just kind of keeps popping up in my head.

I don't think so. Nyelv personality is completely different than him. Plus during the valen debut, we saw him recording the fight & then Nyelv at the end of the episod also watching the fight from a distance

I think there's no special menaing to them giving shouma and his mother the sludge since a hybrid although fictionally used to hold the trait of both parents really fine , is not actually thr case where there's the physical trait that's expressed ehile realistically the innate ability isn't, which made it more of a necessity to awaken that ability within Shouma through artificial means , aka surgery. Also , I think Shouma's power works by how his impression was on the food he had known before and how exciting the taste was after only hearing it from his mom (example of this is the line "Chocolate and gun goes hand-to-hand" which is weird to some people reacting to the episode but that was shouma expression towards it)

My theory is that the guy “transitioned” from Granute to human and put his Granuteness into Hanto and maybe Shouma’s Gavv also came from him since Hanto’s sketch has it although no mother flashbacks show the monster with Shouma’s Gavv

It’s a log, not a roll. He can shoot up logs in battle and wields an axe. The Gochizo looks like a present, so I seems connected to Christmas in Japan
