Alexandria has my heart because you can buy samples from the website. My favorite dupe (right now) is Fame 15 by Alexandria. These inspiration houses are so addictive! They open the door for so many people to experience the essences of many discontinued and super expensive fragrances. If I'm reaching for the dupe a lot then I'll get the OG. But, I love having the option of purchasing the "generic" first.

You have a great dupe fragrance collection!! I love dupes! As long as the quality is there that's all that matters to me. Honestly I get more compliments on my dupe fragrances and less expensive fragrances..Go figure lol! I understand why people may have a problem but honestly everything in this world is "duped" if you really think about it.

Years ago Avon had a cologne called Come Summer. It was the exact scent as the original Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo of the 1970's. I heard someone claim that Bulgari's Dolce Estasi is basically Avon's Sweet Honesty with a fancy bottle and a hefty price tag.

I appreciate dupe houses. Specifically oil perfumery. Allows me to own many luxury fragrances and not feel left out. And the prices of some of these og fragrances are just theft. 😂 thanks for your review.

Oil Perfumery is easily accessible for me so I really enjoy them. Memo’s Tamarindo, Jo Malone’s Wood sage and sea salt and Delina Exclusive being the ones I own and like (Oud Bouquet will sit forever in my closet! 🤢). Oakcha is also great. I have many dupes but Lost Cherry and Aventus for her are the ones I wear the most… You always look gorgeous Veronica, you don’t need to stress! We would watch you in t-shirts and leggings too you know! 😉

Loved this! I was of the mind that dupes shouldn’t exist unless proceeds go back to the original house, but I’m not of that mind anymore. The fashion world does this all of the time and almost any industry that sells aesthetics. Also I fully acknowledge that dupes are an excellent option for folks that only buy cruelty-free. In many cases the dupes are cruelty-free while the originals are not. Finally these dupe houses, from what I’ve tried, make great frags so spray away! -Chris

Dua’s Dark Angelica is a great dupe for Guerlain’s Angelique Noire. As an extrait de Parfum, it lasts super long & you don’t need to spray much.

Oh my, I am a huge fan of both Alexandria and Dua! Quality is very good in both. Just purchased Hypnotizing Venom, an inspiration for Hypnotic Poison, from the original 1989 formulation. I’ve had it two days (yes, I have to put it away to macerate!). But, I have gotten several compliments already! And, I adore Alexandria’s Fade to Black (Killian’s Back to Black) and Dark Knight (Killian’s Back Phantom)…and they are all bangers! Thanks for the video…now there are even more I need!

@@VeronicaSays I never liked honey fragrances before Fade to Black, and it is one of my all-time favorites! A young cashier at Walgreens recently said I smelled wonderful…like a rich “boss lady”. Of course, that made my day! Yep, the addiction is real. My 19-year old daughter loved my vintage bottle of HP (it’s all gone now! 😢), but fell in love yesterday with Dua’s inspiration. She said to buy her a bottle for Christmas instead of a new bottle of HP. She’ll be much happier I think; the new HP formulation is a shadow of what it once was…so sad!

My fav dupe is Dua miss congeniality right now. I've actually had to force myself to used others in my collection and I have some niche and designer frags... My Dua collection has exploded, love them. Have a few from Dossier that I really like as well. I think I'll give these other houses a chance too. Oriental Cherry/ Dossier is lovely and fun to wear. I’ve tried Lavanilla Pure Vanilla; it isn’t a dupe for Feve Delieous but similar enough that I was both excited and a touch annoyed that I had just ordered the largest bottle of Feve. After hearing rumors that Feve was being discontinued, I thought it was a good idea to invest in my current and future selfs holiday comfort scent. Thanks for the details. I really love Layered's Norma Jean which is a dupe for TF Rose Prick. I have not had a chance to compare but I am so happy with Norma Jean that I don't feel that motivated to even try. A lot of reviewers talk about performance issues with the TF and the Layered version lasts very well so it seems like a total win! Thanks for the reviews, love them.

I have some Alt fragrances that seem to be pretty good. I just got my first Dua because I desperately wanted angels share (haven’t smelled it) but couldn’t spend that money. There was a sale but your right I wouldn’t pay full price for Dua dupes. However, it smells amazing! Lasts forever and is sooo good!

I definitely like “inspired by” fragrances, especially if they’re discontinued or incredibly hard to find. Counterfeits are bad for multiple reasons, including human trafficking. @@VeronicaSays I can easily come up with more ideas. Not a problem at all. I live in a town in the Pine Barrens and I work in a medical group at a military base in the Pine Barrens. It’s spooky because of so many weird things, including being the home of the Jersey Devil. Lots of folklore.

I only have 7 fragrances from Dua so far…and about 100 on my wish list😂 The ones that had a chance to macerate and develop are so nice . Dreamy Elixir, Vanille Overload and Aphrodisiac 🥰😍 Very unique and not like anything else I have in my collection. Miss Congeniality, Black Widow and Hypnotizing Venom are macerating, however they are already pretty good as is! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on dupes🌹

I had to giggle when your camera panned over the myriad bottles of perfume dupes. I must say I have developed an obsession with Dua. I love blind buying after reading about the notes and reading reviews of both the original and the dupe. I see it as a relaxing hobby. I have A Night in the Desert too. It's so beautiful, especially the beeswax and incense note and yet so underrated (the original and the dupe). I've just ordered Italiano based on your reaction!

It's SO TRUE about prepping for the videos. You look gorgeous, though, as always. I appreciate the struggle. I wear jewellery sets and think the same thing. I don't know if it's appropriate, but I love mine. As for the false eyelashes, I LOVE the look of them, and yours are so masterfully applied and don't look fake at all. That's never the case with me. :( I'm totally interested in these because their cousin, Oil Perfumery, is a company to whom I give money when I want to sample a very high end scent for a long enough period of time to formulate an opinion. When I like the OP version, I give my money to the company that makes the original because...it pleases me to pay money for things that I like, and I like expensive perfume. Yup. I said it. I just do. I would rather pay BOTH companies than one. I believe that there is no consistent and correct answer to the "is it okay" question because all of the points you bring up are so valid. I'd go so far as to say that it's NOT okay, and yet because I benefit from it I let it slide when it comes to Oil Perfumery. But talk to me tomorrow and I'll tell you the opposite. :p I appreciate this video. I appreciate your honesty, integrity, and your unapologetic commitment to being yourself and to expressing YOUR opinion on YOUR channel in the way YOU see fit. #goals.

The eyelash struggle is so REAL!! It's an ongoing battle to figure out the best technique. Sigh. 🤣 Oil Perfumery is awesome. I had so much more footage that I cut because the video was already 300 years long. The footage included homages to other dupe houses including Oil Perfumery. They do a great job. And HEY - nothing wrong with liking expensive perfume. Your money, your choices! 💯 And thanks for your support of my rambles and thoughts. I enjoy a lot of what the dupes provides sometimes more than it’s inspiration. I just tried the inspired version of MFK from Julianna and I love it…and I hated the original 🤷🏾‍♀️. They removed what seemed to be a medicinal smell to my nose and it is lovely. (BTW I also have Delina and Delina Ex from the same house and they are wonderful). Amazing collection! So interesting before you got in to the video I was thinking my favorite dossier dupe is floriental vanilla. I also find it has better longevity than black opium. The opening is a little strange like a blast of anise but after 10 min it’s perfect!!!!

And I do agree that there's nothing wrong with a good dupe fragrance but there's a lot wrong with a house that wants you to pay them $200+ for some cr*p scent. Apple Crumb smells soooo good. I have both Oajan and Apple crumb- i like Apple Crumb better- it has a liitle more apple, smells more like a pie and lasts longer. I do love Oajan too, it is def more smoother than the dupe.

Alexander The Great by Alexandria Fragrances is spot on for Alexander II by Xerjoff and it last so much longer than the original fragrance. Thank you for these suggestions. I’m currently looking to expand my “inspired by” fragrance collection.

Veronica, I don't know if you will receive this comment as the video is a year old. I am trying to catch up on all your wonderful content. I am by no means an expert as you are in perfume. This is a new and fun hobby for me. First, I am going to comment on counterfeit/plagarism and then my thoughts on Dossier. I am a physician and have been one for years. When I do a presentation or research I often utilize others works. Every scientist and physician references another's work. It's referenced in the bibliography. This is standard practice in the scientific community. Therefore, I agree with what you said about dupes. As far as Dossier is concerned, I am most impressed with the company. The fact that they send a return label allowing one to try the product and decide sets the company apart from others. I also like the philosophy of the company, clean products, and simplicity of packaging. I own fragrances from $15.00 to $400.00. By no means is my collection extensive and I am not an expert with a sophisticated nose such as yours, but I love Dossier! As far as "Lost Cherry" by Tom Ford and Dossier's version I cannot tell the difference! In fact, the Dossier version lasts far longer on my skin than TF. I am going to try the other brands you mentioned in the video. My goal is to smell beautiful. I believe most women do. I think it's alturistic that a company makes scent affordable. I love your channel. I start my day with coffee and Veronica! Would you consider doing a review on Kenzo's l'elephant? I purchased a sample. I hated it when I put it on, but forgot to wash it off and went out. I was shocked when I received compliments. It appeared to transform on my skin over the course of the day. Would love to hear your thoughts. To reference one of your other videos, yes Veronica I love the bottles as much as the perfume. There are perfumes in my humble collection that were purchased solely for the bottle, not the fragrance. I bought a Katy Perry Cat, and a mermaid bottle just to sit on my dresser because they were so cute. I subscribed to your other channel, but never get them in my KZbin inbox. Thank you for your wisdom and lovely sense of humor.

I work in the research community, so I, too, have first-hand real world understanding of what is and isn't plagiarism and "stealing" of intellectual property. And as someone who has written and reviewed IP contracts, I get it. In the fragrance space, the argument and the variables involved differ, but I think the overall concept is the same... maybe? Hi 😊 I've tried cherry smash from ALT. It is a dupe for tom ford lost cherry. In my case the original lasts 30-45 min. 😔 The alt one last the whole day and i would say they are 95% similar 🤩 the performance of ALT nicotinna as a dupe for tom ford tobacco vanille, also lasts a long time, But i have not sniffed the original 😊

Hi Shirley! 👋 Hhhmmm, hard question to answer because so many of them are beast mode. Italiano from Dua maybe? Gourmand Patchouli from Dossier? Really all of them though. Another set of dupes that are really beastmode are the Amber Oud Gold (Erba Pura dupe) and Amber Oud Rouge (BR540 dupe) from Al Haramain - not mentioned in this video.
