I think the reason this movie was a hit was because this movie struck the right balance of attracting both the gays and the homophobes. Gays went in to see this for representation and homophobes went in to have a chuckle at gay's expense. I personally felt this movie really did NO GOOD for the LGBTQ community but Karan keeps saying he wanted to make this dinner table conversation before making a serious gay movie but that never happened till now. Karan is a master businessman who only understands money. While I admire how enterprising he is, I hate him for how he could have done so much for the community but he didn't and always played to the gallery.
