Dostoevsky's Surprising Take on Suffering Changed My Life
Notes from Underground -amzn.to/3ZGeKYA
Why do we suffer, and is it truly necessary?
In this thought-provoking video, we explore Fyodor Dostoevsky's profound insights into the human condition through his life and the timeless wisdom of Notes from Underground. Dostoevsky, a man shaped by unimaginable hardship, believed that suffering awakens consciousness and reveals the raw truths of our existence. Through the lens of his unforgettable anti-hero, the Underground Man, we confront life's most challenging question: Do we need to suffer to feel alive? Discover how suffering forces us to confront our vulnerabilities, connect with others, and find meaning in chaos. This journey into the depths of humanity will leave you feeling united and empathetic as we all share in the experience of suffering.

I can’t tell you how much this video gave me the encouragement to continue on in the sufferings that are in my life….it gave me hope and defined my sufferings as a way to find meaning in this life, instead of being overcome by its exhaustive struggle …..wisdom is so sweet….Thank you

Thank you! We have to say there is a natural, psychic and subtle nutrition for body and it is a pleasure. Similarly suffering is a healthy food for soul, for it grow and maturation. Seneca said the body informs us about its sickness by way of pain whereas the main sign of the misery and sickness of the soul is its carelessness and silence. Dostoevsky was right the suffering is a core of consciousness.

As italian poet Giacomo Leopardi said: "men are miserable by necessity and think they are by accident".

Even Dostoyevsky that I love, was made for change people points of view. For to be compassionate, don't take any suffering. A y rational world travels, shows, a d proves that, man without suffering, can, a d often is full of compassion. So, Dostoyevsky is full of shit
