I have the red LED version of this counter on a Superstar GR (President Grant Export). Great counter, nice review!

Can you use this inline with a radio all the time or just use for the bench, working on radios ?

Are there any newer models out that don't require the tone for SSB?

Hi, now that you got the frequency on ssb can I use my opened clarifier to slide left or right to slide properly on frequency and will it track or will I still have to inject the tone every time I slide

That's good for the bench instead of my huge frequency counter on my bench

What if I want to use it in the Mobil ? Couldn't I just pick up a power cord that plugs into my trucks ciggarette lighter plug and then into the back of the counter ?

Do I adjust the volume of the speaker by keying up the mic and using it on sideband until I got a stable reading? Otherwise, how would I know if I needed to turn the volume up or down?
@LeeKirkman8810 жыл бұрын
I used to do this anyway inject a 1khz audio tone downloaded from the internet always gave a stable reading

Please be honest, I'm new at this. Is this frequency counter and is it worth it. I am looking for one like this for AM and SSB, but I am not looking for a big box. This one and or a similar would be great. HELP.

Honestly it works and there aren’t a whole lot of options out there but I probably wouldn’t buy it again.

On a six digit frequency counter what is that six digit supposed to be if you're on less safe channel 19 or 27185. Should that six digit be a zero or a five
@Mister22x28 жыл бұрын
Zero. 19 = 27.1850
@Radionut8 жыл бұрын
+Jim Verge well that's a vote for zero yesterday I had several votes for five
@Mister22x28 жыл бұрын
That's funny. People said 5? Really? I've been in radio and had a repair shop from 1980's until 2007. All of the CB Frequencies read out to a Zero in the 6th digit. Here's a good reference. www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?aid=7731

+Jim Verge thank you for the link. You were talking about being in the radio business since the 80s well these people that are telling me five I've also been in the business since the CB boom which was in the 70s. So you know six of one half dozen of another I don't know

I'd rather modify the radio and install a frequency counter that shows receive and transmit
@Cdlzzl7 жыл бұрын
links to do that?
@wayne487msc10 жыл бұрын
Worthless counter. It reads a new frequency only when you hit reset. Can't use it to monitor a VFO as you dial around or to monitor drift.
@chris2crazzy10 жыл бұрын
So if your clarifier is opened up it won't read where you slide to that sucks
@Radionut8 жыл бұрын
I don't quite understand what you're saying. So you are saying that if you have a radio that goes between frequencies like the a channels it won't read it
@oldrango8832 жыл бұрын
It’s not for receiving, I mean what are you doing? Staying keyed down while you roll the band?
