Could I get an echo mic for this radio?

If they went to the trouble of putting USB socket they should have used USB C on such a modern radio, but that's a very minor detail. Would have loved to see 100w all modes, Would have loved if all buttons lit up. I have the Washington on order, currently using the FT-891 and while it's a fantastic radio the fan noise is driving me insane, especially on FM , it's not a fault of the radio, it's a very small radio for installation in a car so the heatsink is tiny so it need high speed fans which makes it very loud, you won't notice in a car but the President should make a massive difference. The 891 can do 100 w on SSB and FM so I might need an Amplifier to boost me back up to FM but I will see how it works for me, SSB @80 won't be noticeable vs 891. The Washington will also give me more buttons such as band and mode which will be real nice + it's a lot nicer looking radio.

Hate to wet on your charcoal . Not ham radio for 10 meters like the man said. Export CB. Other wise...maybe....So when do you need a license to transmit on CB? What did I miss? No FM op's on 28 Mhz. Only on a small portion of 29 Mhz. And definitely no Echo on ham bands. You will get yelled at if you do. Or a gentle reminder....

Sorry for long post ahead on a topic that's possibly related to this. There's a very tiny ham hf ssb rig that's been around a few years now, (tr-usdx),. It's barely bigger than a deck of playing cards. I bring this up because in the past, the reason ssb was usually larger were the filters. Mechanical and others. It's also why the higher price. It wasn't just marketing. I remember reading that the team behind the tr-usdx used a never before implemented method of generating ssb commercially through software. Not sure how it works but I think, (not sure), one of the downsides is that you don't get more power to the finals because what it's doing is an emulation of ssb? Not 12 from 4 via hardware??? And the sound,..not that great on the other end but acceptable. The tr-usdx uses a tiny 8bit processor so maybe this is far superior. The five watt sticker on this one may be input power to finals? If others know more, please chip in. That said, I still love it and I want one when they hit the market supposedly in February. Love the form factor!!! Perfect for my crv. Thanks for sharing this. The same crap over and over again in a new housing! When will there finally be an SDR CB radio with a waterfall, antenna tuner and accurate S meter in these times? That would be worth $300-400. No wonder people are using IC 705, IC 7300 and FT991 on the CB band.

would like to see a manufacture make a cb radio with the option of a remote control head...that way you can place the body ion the truck, and it can be a big as you want it...without compromising performance...and those little handhelds look alike mobiles don't cut it.
