Hikari Yagami Are you by any chance a dota 2 player? I'm really interested in dota, but could get some help about it mechanichs, objectives and similar stuff. I have something like 200 hours on dota tho, not truy a begginer without any knowledge
@hikariyagami40057 жыл бұрын
Armin Alijaj Uhmm.. yeah! I'm a Dota player, but I'm only at around 600 hours of play time. And if you want advice from a 2k MMR scrub from me, sure! I'd be happy to help with your questions.
@poison22597 жыл бұрын
Hikari Yagami Well I'm interested in heroes and their types. What should i pick for lanes, what types of heroes there are? I'm master division in League, but dota 2 is more complex
@hikariyagami40057 жыл бұрын
Hmm... Technically, as long as you're good at a hero, you can pick any lane for the hero. But the commonly used strategy in pubs is this: A ranged carry in the middle lane, a carry and support in the safe lane, and a tank and a support in the offlane. If someone jungles, it would usually be the one in the offlane to solo. The types of heroes... It's kinda hard to explain but here's the condensed version: Each hero has their own attribute. There are three types in all, Strength, Agility, and Intelligence. In strength, it encompasses hp regen and the hp pool. In agility, it encompasses attack speed and armor. In Intelligence, it encompasses Mana regen, mana pool, and spell amplification. You have the strength type heroes, denoted by the red symbol. They're usually the tanks and the "fighters" as you call them in League. Most of the strength type heroes are tanks and fighters, but the supports that fall in this range are treated more like fighter-mages. You can usually have them carry if your carry is crap. The agility type heroes, denoted by the green symbol, are usually the "Assassins" and "Marksmen" of League. In this area, most of the right click carries can be found. What I mean is that the heroes you find here are like, "Yeah, my skills can finish you off, but I'll right click you to death anyways." Lastly, the intelligence heroes are denoted by a blue symbol. They're the typical "mages" of League. Three-fourths of the heroes you find here will be supports, but the carries you find here usually have synergy between their skills. An example for this is Windranger. You use her Q ability first, the stun, then you use her W ability to deal a HORRENDOUS amount of damage, and finish the enemy off with right clicks (Or your ulti if the health is still high) Hope this helps you. :) If this is so messy you can't understand, please point out the part you're having confusion with. I'll try to revise it with the best of my abilities :)

Coming from league (5k hours) I have 5 things that make dota hard for me: 1. Characters having turn animations so kiting and overall movements feels clunky for me 2. Mana costs and cc durations are massive in comparison and it's hard to get used to 3. Not being able to toggle camera lock, I usually play locked so having to pay extra attention to moving the camera is an extra annoyance 4. The courier theres one of them but 5 players so often you have to wait quite a bit. Also being used to recalling back to base which is not possible in dota (due to courier and tp scrolls Im guessing) having to walk everywhere feels weird 5. Losing gold on death makes games feel super snowbally and sometimes you have to wait an eternity for one item The charm for me is all the characters being unlocked instantly and those characters have a lot if depth and thats what is interesting to me in dota Sorry for the wall of text, tldr: Im bad

I wanna say thanks for updating a guide for 2017. Going to be jumping into this solo very soon. Nobody to play with unfortunately. But I have a few questions. When supports farm gold from camps, does that gold go to just you or to the team? Do the carry's have to farm the gold they need themselves? I saw you choose one of the abilities earlier, ( one of the three = ulti) do you need to unlock them or buy them to use?
@QuikSnoopy7 жыл бұрын
No problem, I wanted the guide to be as updated as possible. So your first question, when supports farm gold from camps, the gold is given to the hero that had the last hit, or killed the creep, it is not shared with your team. I'm not sure what you mean by the abilities, but you do not have to buy any of the abilities or ultimate abilities. Everything is free in Dota except for cosmetic sets or HUDs.
@primroan53547 жыл бұрын
QuikSnoopy I asked that question right as Dota was finishing downloading. I hopped in and played the first and second tutorials. Playing as Dragon Knight was a bit of a challenge. Seemed to run out of mana constantly. But I figured out about the abilities and experience needed to unlock them. I think Dragon Knight is a hard carry, correct? He's made better by purchasing those weapons in the shop that upgrade attack speed and damage? From what I hear the good starting heroes are Lion, Lina, Lich, and Venomancer.
@QuikSnoopy7 жыл бұрын
Dragon Knight is a decent hero for beginners, yes he is a carry, Lion, Lina, Lich and Venomancer are decent heroes for people who are starting out, yes.

@QuikSnoopy7 жыл бұрын
I haven't played Smite so I can't compare it. There is no mastery system for heroes in Dota, I believe League has a system similar. As far as roles, typically you have a carry and a support in the same (Safe) Lane, 1 middle hero, the rest is situational, you can have 2 offline heroes or 1 offlane and 1 roam/jungle.

@dabuis28937 жыл бұрын
Yo I got you, so Dota 2 UI for items can be confusing but in game its simple. Items build into items, and the UI shows an item you select in the center with items it builds into on top and items that build into it below it, and once you buy all previous items or the said item you may put it into your inventory. Honestly outta lol dota and paragon I think dota's is bothe largest and hardest while paragon's is the most fun to use.

Is there a video explaining builds for beginners?
@QuikSnoopy7 жыл бұрын
I'll be making some videos on builds in the future. I've made some replay commentary videos that are similar to builds, where I go over some of the decision making that I made during the game.
