when skeleton king was changed to wraith king back in the day, the Chinese dota community started to call him "绿翔大帝", which translates to "green shit king". Everybody hated the new design and thought he was so ugly. It was so funny lol.

​@@wejoji2955 In lower setting, especially if "PS1 lighting" is part of the experience, you can now distinguish where the hell is the enemies, and what the fuck is going on. videogamedunkey did a video on graphical fidelity, and the one point I can always remember, using HALO as an example, is that you can actually tell where's the enemies are.

It is so cool to see the old minimalist design philosophy, because those models from 2013 are still kinda cool in their own way. They are absolutely technically old, but visually they server the purpose and reflect hero personalities to a 101%

A lot of models were too much similiar to under license stuff as skeleton king,storm spirit or rly old and ugly af wich had to be updated since the game needs to update itself for its own existance and always have a lot of small patches for fixing bugs/graphic detailes Also since the game have an international audience so it means even countries with rules wich the game have to respect,china have restrictions about skeletons/blood

Their designs were more bizarre. Lion is also a good example of this. In particular, I think that DOTA 2 could use darker and grotesque designs. With more original and brutal ideas and without so much fanservice.

I believe you can. I used to install it all the time back then just via copying a crack copy of wacraft 3: frozen throne from a USB, then downloading the latest map version on any site available and pasting that file on the maps folder.

4:05 Icefrog and Blizzard goes into copyrights fight because of Skeleton King originally belongs to Diablo franchise which is Leoric The Skeleton King. So, Dota was forced to remove Skeleton King from game.. or alter it. In 2013's winter, Skeleton King was replaced with Wraith King and also Legion Commander was released.
